The Youth of today and their relationship with Policemen

i hate all this vietnam veteran bullshit, they did a great job (?) but now they just need to step off their high horse for a bit... but still related to topic Police do an amazing job for everybody. I don't see why the youth of today hate them so much.
I know a kid who went up behind a police man during a protest and slammed 2 bricks against the sides of his faces for the reason of 'being a pig'.
My auntie was a police officer, no idea what she was like but she is strict to her children.
I personally don't have a problem with the cops. I've never met and abusive cop (althought I haven't met many, no more than average I suppose) Most of the cops I've talked to seem to be really nice and helpful too. Also what annoys me is that people say they hate the cops and when asked why they usually say something like "We were just hanging around drinking and the cops told us to go away!" as if they weren't breaking the law.

Like what rombishead post was. Youth are always going to rebel. They derive some sort reward from opposing authority.
The police chief in my village is a pretty cool guy, and so are the rest of the police officers. Except for the occasional stormtrooper they are all nice people. Today's generation needs to be more grateful to these people.
Just an opinion.
I'm 24 and they still fucking slow down on me when they drive by
nosey arseholes
While I disagree with "I'm just enforcing the law :downs:" no brain not thinking for yourself I'll admit that they are needed. It does strike me as stupid that if a riot officer hits you at a protest you're not allowed to strike back without it becoming an offense, despite it being legal to use necassary force if they weren't the police.
Cop hatred is more valid in the U.S. than in any other western country. However anybody who agrees that the cop in the OPs video deserved to be shot, is completely out of their minds.
You obviously haven't been to Limerick city.
Two nights ago me and a friend got in trouble with an officer for 'loitering on railroad property'. The officer was extremely nice about it, let us off easy as hell, we were doing urbex, he even explained how he found us out. We had knives on us that were above the legal limit by an inch too and he didn't bother us about them, just told us 'ignorance isn't an excuse but remember'. Hell the first thing he said to us was 'Don't worry I know what you're about' meaning he knew we were just there exploring and taking pictures. He made it really relaxing to get a 120$ fine, and for a Detroit cop that's just amazing
Cops these days act like their tough stuff, when really their like that one dude in the video, a pussy who won't do shit to help anyone. Their going to bark orders at people just because they can and because it makes them feel important and authoritative. With police like that, I entirely agree with hating the police. With police that actually help people and don't act like pricks, I thank them for their service
About the video in the OP; I think that was probably the worst cop I've ever seen. First he pulls him over, and screams at him to get out of the car and come over to him. When the hell have you ever seen that? He could have calmly gotten out of the car, walked over to him, and done the routine "do you know why I pulled you over?", avoiding any complications. After he did that, and the old dude was mocking him, he didn't do a thing but yell at him more. Even worse, he eventually got out of the car and pointed a gun at him because he himself was butthurt that he didn't listen. When the dude got the shotgun out, I saw the cop fire maybe, three shots. He had almost half the video to shoot him while he was getting the gun, but he lets him crawl around, get the gun, load up, get extra shells, and then get out and empty the gun on him twice. In that video, I take neither side, their both little pricks that need to get their diapers changed.
EDIT: Page king :w00t:
I don't hate the police, it would be a fuckton worse if there wasn't a police force.
Policeman officer
I blame GTA

This is truth.
I do hate how cops give out way more tickets at the end of the month to get there ticket quota.

Theres a limit on the length of knife blades? In the US?!?!

If he shot him before the vet fired then it wou;d've looked like a cop shooting an old man for no apparent reason. They have some pretty strict (bullshit) rules about using deadly force and if they don't follow them they could get charged for murder.
I agree with the OP, and the problem is rampant on FP because half of the members are twelve year olds and can't understand the stress cops go through and what would happen if they weren't there.
I'd say it depends on the leadership in the department. Some police can be complete power hungry morons, although there are a lot of police out there who only desire to do their job without too much hassle.
if you live in the suburbs then it would be very difficult to understand why cops aren't highly regarded
inner-city cops are notorious for doing dumb things, take for an example, the man getting shot because his wallet "looked like a gun"
The cop in the video should have used force / shot the guy as soon as he was walking back to his car. I'm not being edgy here, it should have hit him that his voice wasn't going to do any good and just knocked the guy onto the ground.
Cops are just another corrupt asset of our society that's gotten out of hand. I live on the westcoast where we have undercover-Charger police cars everywhere you look and they'll pull you over and violate your rights without you even knowing what you did wrong. There are some good cops out there too, yeah, but they are outnumbered by those that have become used to their position of power and now abuse it.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The problem is with the law itself, if people are getting arrested for having a joint on them, people are obviously going to get pissed off with police.

I live in an inner city area and I find that the police do fuck all. Hell the stations right next to a park which has been repeatedly vandalized, after which the vandals get bored and decide to go up the road I live in and proceed to vandalize everyone's cars as well without even an ounce of police intervention.

Oh yeah, carrying illegal substances. That's no biggy. Let that slide. Speeding however, that's serious shit, we should shoot speeders on sight.
I'm more worried about the video. Holy shit, the screaming made me cringe. And the description...
Using `suppressive fire, Brannan systematically, methodically shot Dinkheller in the arms, legs, exposed areas that would not be covered had Dinkheller been wearing a bulletproof vest, slowly executing him. Reloading his weapon Brannan continued firing with the final death shot to Dinkhellers right eye.
What now fuckerrrr

Because speeding kills unlike weed.
I hate authority of any kind.
There are cops in my city that will literally pull you over WITHOUT probable cause, just to tell you you're being searched, and if god forbid I don't have my medical card on me, they instantly consider me the worst kind of criminal. It's disgusting. They try to steal medicine from legit patients (happens a lot with clinics getting shut down) and DO. The previous poster who mentioned are laws are at fault you are correct, but the current system, ie; the police, congress, etc. are all incapable of doing anything to make it right.
You know the opposite of progress, is congress, right?

Without any law enforcement society would fall apart.
I have quite a few cop friends, including an ex police chief of the biggest city in the tri-state area.
Cops can be really cool motherfuckers.
