your english teacher isn't very bright
She was a crazy old hag who was caught up in her previous life as a writer for a newspaper, truth be told I agreed with you on that since before this thread.
I used to like cops until one day, after cleaning out my car, I decided to go for a ride. It was about 10:30, not too late, but enough time to make a quick run around the town before going to bed. I drove around a bit, and pulled into a public parking lot to turn around, when I noticed someone was riding my bumper, I start to leave when his lights go on, I couldn't remember what I did wrong, so I just kept calm. He comes up to my car, and asks me what I was doing driving around at 10:30, I told him I didn't need a reason, I was just driving around. He told me to be more respectful, and ran my information. He comes back 5 minutes later and gives me back my info, I asked him what the problem was, and he said I "Looked suspicious" A blue 4 door sedan with 0% tinted windows turning around in a parking lot is suspicious? He told me to find better things to do and followed me to my house, riding my bumper the whole time. Now, I don't hate cops, but I don't like them either, I just try to avoid them around here ever since.
Yeah true. But I still don't think stupider is a word, but maybe my english teacher taught me wrong :v: automerge..
Stupider; Comparative form of stupid: more stupid That has to be the 2nd worst word ever. Only 2nd to Fantabulous

'Yes sir', 'No sir', etc as well as pleading the fifth alone are all I ever say but if you get a cop who's enough of an asshole he'll make your life hell no matter what you do. ALSO never listen to a cop that tells you 'Things will go easier for you if you cooperate' and try to coerce you into telling him that you've got pot, or whatever. It's a game. Do not cooperate other than 'Yes sir', 'No sir' and never incriminate yourself.
I don't have anything against the police, but I get nervous when they're around because I'm afraid they might arrest me for some bullshit thing I didn't do. Yes, I'm paranoid with police.
The cop in the video should have used force / shot the guy as soon as he was walking back to his car. I'm not being edgy here, it should have hit him that his voice wasn't going to do any good and just knocked the guy onto the ground.
Taking a life is a powerful thing. If you don't think twice, then it might wreck a bunch of lives. Yours, included. You also have to keep in mind that the vet was old, as well. Perhaps the officer thought he was senile.

All because of the 'war on drugs'. More like a war on peoples ability to put what they want into their bodies! But when those are bullets, the cops won't think twice. :smith:
I think it's hormones that teenagers receive when going through puberty. The surge of emotion creates (among other things) feelings of rebellion towards authority. It's why teenagers thing they know it all. It's probably an evolutionary thing to make the next generation move out and rebel from their parents, start a tribe somewhere else. Not a very useful response in modern society.
its sad
Fun fact: the only policeman I've ever had to speak to has been family
My parents are ex-cops. Most cops I've met were nice but I'm guessing because of that. Bunch of people I know say the cops are dicks a lot of the time, and that's true. I've met some dick cops. But not all of them are bad
OP's video is sick. :smith:
There are cops in my city that will literally pull you over WITHOUT probable cause, just to tell you you're being searched, and if god forbid I don't have my medical card on me, they instantly consider me the worst kind of criminal. It's disgusting. They try to steal medicine from legit patients (happens a lot with clinics getting shut down) and DO. The previous poster who mentioned are laws are at fault you are correct, but the current system, ie; the police, congress, etc. are all incapable of doing anything to make it right.
This sounds like a serious problem. It's a good thing you're going to do something about this that doesn't involve just complaining on Facepunch!
This sounds like a serious problem. It's a good thing you're going to do something about this that doesn't involve just complaining on Facepunch!
there isn't really anything you can do. Until someone gets killed or badly beaten, police reforms tend to be kept at bay.
The kind it hurts to realize isn't 'the land of the free' after all. Edit: automerge
africa?
I would really like to know what happened to the guy in the video. Was he caught?
africa?
africa is a continent
I think they're alright. It is the TSA that pisses me off. On topic though, it is subjective. Saying all cops are evil corrupters in society is like saying all Americans are fat or all Jews are rich, black people sell weed. Such a fallacy. Some People judge things on face value, some believe what they hear, which is fine only if it is credible sources.
africa is a continent
ya he didn't say country of the free continents are forms of land
ya he didn't say country of the free continents are forms of land
your posts are bad see i can post the obvious too
I always thought the stereotype was black people sold crack, where I live it's generally white preppy kids who sell primarily marijuana, and obviously the scary ass motherfuckers that rape you with knife handles (true story)
My bad I live in the suburbs. Where all the hoodlums hangout listening to the bad ass rappers like Lil Wayne and never heard of the late Biggie Smalls. I've only seen like a couple shades different from my own. Tan, white, and Jersey Shore Orange.
My bad I live in the suburbs. Where all the hoodlums hangout listening to the bad ass rappers like Lil Wayne and never heard of the late Biggie Smalls.
Where I live they listen to Bradles and Skepta and set fire to bins and shit.
people who don't want cops should just move to a third world country without any government there's no cops there
Where I live they listen to Bradles and Skepta and set fire to bins and shit.
Fellow British user I can see. All we get are kids who think they are "FTM" and do stupid shit like break side mirrors on cars and just generally cause inconveniences for people. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] I'm from Liverpool as well
At this point, I'm absolutely disgusted with how people of my generation see Police Officers. I hear too much of the common "Fuck the Police" mindsets around school. While there are some cases of Policemen abusing power, that does not classify all of them. There are threads in the News section that break down into a clash of whether the cop was in the right or wrong. Sometimes the choice is unclear, and sometimes it's bright as day. There will always be people who are anti-law enforcement 100 percent of the time as far as I'm concerned. A very good example is this video: Comments like "lol* coppa got fukn owned" infect the comments of it, and that's pretty disturbing to me. Now, discuss your views on Policemen, or other incidents like the video above.
This video is used during police training around the United States to demonstrate what happens when you fail to use deadly force quick enough or fail to use less than lethal force to gain control of the situation and prevent the need for deadly force. When you hear about old people being tasered, it is likely because this video plays in the back of every officer's mind. Just because you are grey, it doesn't mean you are any less lethal with a firearm.
