B+W are way overpriced anyway. £60 for a UV filter which does fuck all (have you ever seen comparisons, there's literally no difference and the only point of a UV filter is to protect the front element of your lens) when you can get the same from a £6 one. I've seen plenty of ND filters for less than £50 which are at least ND/32.
Really? Comparing UV filters to ND filter? Plus, where have I advocated for UV filters? ND/32 would only cut out 5 stops of light, not nearly enough for daytime long exposures not captured in shade. The B+W example I used, which is a 10 stop, is $110. 50 pounds ($80) isn't really that much less. I don't use that filter, I just listed as a good example. What I use is $20 variable ND filter I bought off Ebay.

@ Kabstrac, Fluorescent Lamp is my favorite of the bunch. I like the color that you set the picture with. . I feel like shooting with a view camera has helped me.

would you say cokin filters are worth it?

fuck you guys and your awesome photos, i quit [sp](not really)[/sp] i've heard a story of this small square hole in the middle of a road that has a plant growing in it, plant stays short because cars drive over it every day, I wanna get a photo of it with a car ontop or coming towards it (in appearance, of course), not sure how i'm gonna pull that off just yet
Get down low on a pavement and whip out a zoom lens? By down low I mean literally lying down on the pavement.

Trying out something new for inspiration, a series of pictures with a specific theme/subject. It's actually pretty fun to do. Makes you think about backgrounds, recurring elements and all that jibble jabble Don't know why the processing got mixed results though, maybe the chemicals are going bad. Ah well, I kind of like it
those are beautiful man!! i really need some inspiration, i've stopped taking photos completely :( [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] could someone drop me a list of things i need to complete in the next week? im on study leave and have no exams to do.. i think this would get my juices flowing again
Anyone else notice how Flickr's display has changed? Unless you view them in lightbox, they're really fucking soft. Terrible. [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] Wait... And now it's fine again. Very strange.
Just had a check on that and it's quite bad with some shots, not so much with others.
Attempted to take a picture of a spider. It moved right when I pressed the shutter which is why it's slightly blurred because I flipped a shit. [t]http://puu.sh/v7AB[/t]
Wow those are beautiful DoubleDD!
Originally went out to take pictures of the neat clouds since hugeass storms are coming in. Got caught up with a quick panorama that really turns out as just a wide angle shot. I'm not normally one for watermarks, but I've had one of my shots stolen before so I don't want to chance it. [editline]16th May 2012[/editline] Ahhhh let me resize these!
I'm not normally one for watermarks, but I've had one of my shots stolen before so I don't want to chance it.!
Really, don't bother with the watermarks unless you're releasing sample shots for a client or something. They're easy enough to remove in Photoshop (if anyone has any motivation to do it) and even pretty subtle ones like yours are slightly distracting. I'm new though, so what do I know.

First one is great, second is a bit overdone, third is a work of modern art more than a picture, fourth one is spot on, fifth one is alright. Highly biased opinions, btw.
