She turned around and smiled at me so I snapped a photo. This is going to be a fun summer.
those are beautiful man!! i really need some inspiration, i've stopped taking photos completely :( [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] could someone drop me a list of things i need to complete in the next week? im on study leave and have no exams to do.. i think this would get my juices flowing again
Anyone? Also, HDR's are good when all they do is increase the clarity and the sharpness, not when you can tell they are HDR's.
if you think of anything then fly it my way, would be appreciated :)
HDR's should never be noticeable HDR's.
Anyone? Also, HDR's are good when all they do is increase the clarity and the sharpness, not when you can tell they are HDR's.
We did this thing back in my photog course that was basically "take 20 pictures of a small (fist sized) object in different backgrounds, lightings, angles, camera settings, etc". It's probably a bit on the amateur side for most people here but it was real fun to do and gave me an introduction to most aspects of "artistic" photography (bokeh, DoF control, composition, natural lighting, flash lighting, etc) Also: A photo with purple as it's main color. Purple is an odd color as it isn't common in nature. (iirc)

Hell of a dump you got yourself their mate, try to only post 3-4 images max. This helps to distinguish photos better and makes it easier to give criticism :) Also Latin_geek, cheers for that.. Imma get to work on that now! Sounds like a great idea! :D
Sorry, it's a bad habit
Sorry, it's a bad habit
How is it a habit? Just post like only 3-5 or so photos next time, simple.
I did it a few times and it's instinctive to post the things I like. I'll make a note not to. Any c&c on the actual photos?

The centering is amazing and the tones are really good if a little over-exposed. :)
Thanks, I'll take your advice.
No worries man, a good idea would be to go through the whole of this thread and any ones prior you can find and just read through.. It's where i get most of my inspiration from and the discussions about photo related things are just a goldmine of information! btw, stick around this subforum.. i like your avatar [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] also, don't take my advice as fact.. i'm still fairly new to this game! my main people i listen to are Pickwickian, bopie and Blaze as, in my opinion, they seem to know the most and produce the best work :)
Pickwickian actually sorta inspired me to take the next step.
Cool idea but I think it would look better if the bottle would be clean and wouldn't have scratches over it.
Yeah definitely. What I'd really like to do is get a fancy shaped glass bottle and fill it with near freezing water. Coz all the fingerprints showed up as a sort of glowing haze on the surface and I bet condensation and frost would look even more incredible.
If I'm honest, I didn't like any of them except the first one. The first one looks more like what an HDR shot should look like. The rest are all overdone.
Exactly. I'm more or less looking for some feedback when it comes to how "subtle" the HDR effect should be. First one is by far my favourite as well.
