I can't help but think it'd look better with a nice vibrant green toning though

I've always found black and white pictures of nature really interesting because removing the colors really brings out the patterns and textures.

yeah that's true too, but to a point.. if all you do is go out taking black and white macro photos of plants you're not really pushing yourself as a photographer :p
