Colours are good, but could use some more sharpening and CA removal. I can't see it in the 640px size here, but when i watch them on flickr they appear somewhat unsharp and i can see a lot of CA in bright/white parts of the picture. (for example in the first picture: look at the man with the black coat in the background with a tie; notice the green edge around him, especially his upper body?; and in the second picture: look at the goal post, all those green near the edges of it).
CA is perfectly removable with Lightroom 4.0 with the lens correction option.
I think the sharpness would improve if you stop down your lens a bit, because it will get sharper then. Maybe that would be hard to do when you already are shooting at ISO 3200, but not impossible though. Ofcourse you could also try the sharpening tool of Lightroom though.
Also, did you take these pictures from a press photographer spot near the playarea or from your seat in the stadium? These pictures look like they were taken from a press spot, which would be awesome.
How'd you get so close to the field, is it your job or something?
This saturday i tested out a Canon FD 35mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift lens i lent from a friend on my NEX 5.
Very nice lens and it can produce some very nice and sharp results.
I think I'll be using my NEX more often with FD lenses; next on the "to test" list: FD 55mm f/1.2 SSC Aspherical and nFD 85mm f/1.2L.

Thank you so much for your comments. You have a really sharp eye, I hadn't spotted the green lines but I'll take you up on your suggestion of removing them. They are straight off my memory card, and I'm really pleased with how they look pre-processing.

When we went to the game, we had literally the worst seats for watching the football but the best seats ever for taking photos. The seating area goes slightly below the pitch (people in row A have their eyes in line with the floor) and we were about six rows back. I took hundreds but the three that really stood out were the ones I posted.

watermarks.
watermarks.
What of it? Did I break an unspoken rule?
watermarks.
Don't whine about them man, they are not all over the picture or something so i don't see any problem.
I also watermark my pictures when i post them on Facebook. Flickr has some nice privacy settings that takes over that function for me though. But it won't be the first time some guy just steals your photo off flickr without your knowledge and tries to sell it. Believe it or not, this happend to a friend of mine who recently found out that somebody stole one of his pictures and tried to sell it in a frame for 200 euros. Not that watermarks will help you a lot with that because they are possible to edit out, but still it gives people a sign of comfort having them on their pictures. There is nothing wrong with protecting your own digital property.
I'm neither for or against watermarks, but those are some pretty unsightly watermarks.
They just look really bad and serve to take the whole image down with them.

You know what dutch people call this kind of nitpickery? "Mierenneuken" or "spijkers op laag water zoeken".
I don't want to insult anyone or get mad, but you tell me: How does a GOOD watermark look like on any picture? It serves a purpose, and yeah, it's a little bit distracting. But to say that it takes a whole image down is just downright nitpickery because it just makes no sense. Just look at aviation photography sites. For example airline-pictures.net. That site uses a double watermark on every picture posted there which looks a bit overexcessive (and way more distractive) to me, but they do it for a reason..
I'm neither for or against watermarks, but those are some pretty unsightly watermarks.

I don't understand how they're unsightly? They're small white letters in the corner of the image, firmly in one's peripheral vision if you're looking at the center of the photo.
I mean, I know it's not sleek or elaborate or interesting like some watermarks, but why does it "take the whole image down with it"?
because it could easily be removed with a simple crop, and in that respect its useless and therefore just detracting from the aesthetic quality of the photo.
Watermarks are extremely easy to remove if someone were inclined to steal your image, crop or just patch it out in any image editor.
The best way to stop someone from stealing your work is really, just upload a small version, not ridiculously small, but keep it within low triple digits (400x500).

Fair enough. I'll keep that in mind for next time I upload pictures to flickr/post here.
