take it on board and learn for next time, don't complain about what you may have done wrong.
Of course. I never back down on any feedback whatsoever, but it's always a pity if it doesn't come out right. Complaining solves nothing but make you unhappy and turn people off :)

I can definitely understand that I love snow. :v:

I feel the colors are too vibrant, and the blue is what sticks out the most. I really like how the city is lit up though, and the mountain in the background of the city adds what I perceive to be a limit on the city's breadth. Just too bright blue. yeah it was really cool looking but I had also been out all night so I was pretty tired and unfocused I dont think I captured it right, I probably could have emphasized the fog more

Fog looks really nice when you compress the scene with a longer focal length :)
Yeah only the 5DMKIII has fog capturing capabilities.
The only time I've been up early enough on a lake where there was still fog rolling over the still waters has been when I'm in the Boundary Waters up on the Canadian border in Minnesota, where it would be foolhardy to bring anything better than a waterproof disposable camera. QuickSnapz, I like the photo, but the balance is annoying me. With the bigger sub island being on the left, I would have preferred the big one more to the right.
Sadly that's how I took the photo but thanks for the advice [editline]8th June 2012[/editline]
Got my hands on a DLSR for the first time. Both shots were taken at night with a flash at 800 ISO, 1/8 shutter speed and f3.5 aperture. How'd I do?
It's never foolhardy to bring your best equipment, i took my 5D2 on a boat and had my hasselblad while almost waist height in a lake up in northern Michigan.
I've gone waist deep in the ocean during very choppy seas. The shot turned out ok, but I was worried the whole time. That's the most precarious position my camera's been in though.
Well, the first one looks a little soft, though the 1/8 shutterspeed may have contributed to that, and tbh I just don't find the second one interesting.
