I agree, the leaf just distracts and doesn't add anything at all for me, the photograph is good enough that it doesn't need silly artistic blur on it like that, especially one that almost covers a 1/3 of the image.
Thanks for the crit. I do agree the blur is a bit distracting, but in disagreement with you I think it would actually work if it took up more space near the top and bottom of the frame - this comes down to poor execution on my part. Example.
Here, tell me if you find this blur to be more dignified! :v:

Hello everyone,
Finally got my first roll of film developed from an old Nikon F3 I bought on ebay about a month ago. Have been using it all this time and not knowing if it even works; thankfully it does. Here's a couple of the scans:

great colours in that first one mate!

that's nicer, and yeah, I agree with your opinion. It could have looked really nice, been well balanced etc, but i think in that first image it was just too distracting. nice shots anyway, really dig these for the tone and composition, I love the way the depth of field works in these images, makes it look like the scene is split into 3 layers

So I went on a walk with my camera and took a few shots

first, how does that even constitute constructive criticism, second I have the strong feeling that you distinctly lack the ability to appreciate subtlety.
I was gonna go out today for a long walk and take photos for hours, but I met up with a friend instead and we went for a walk instead.
I did have my camera though, and I managed to take this photo of her. It's a great success on my behalf because she absolutely hates having her photos taken.

haha I'm just messing. I think you'd have benefitted with a wider perspective on this occasion (maybe you're limited to a fixed lens), and i'd have maybe framed it a little more to the left!

She's wearing one of those dresses that don't attach to the shoulders v:v:v
I was in a bit of a rush taking the photo because I wanted that "unaware of camera"-type of photo, and much like I expected she turned her head and yelled at me the second the photo was taken.
Not a fixed lense, though.
woops, sorry that optimistic was a mistake. Damn razer mouse is too sensitive ^.^

If it was a tad warmer and had more definition in the sky, it would be 10X better, still a good photo though, I ain't dissing it.

try to pick more of a definitive subject. it's hard to really tell what you're trying to show in your shots, but they're still pretty nice. just keep taking photos, experiment with everything

well they may not be the most interesting things, but I enjoy adding meaning and atmosphere to the somewhat meritless or benign.
I think I achieved that sort of well in the window shots.
