For the last 6 months this subforum has degraded from great to /r/photography and it's not from shitposters like Brown, it's from the beginners and the veterans being ignorant of what matters: taking and loving photos. Thanks man! I have no models available, and I find that self-portraits always fuck up when shooting analog. I will definently go down the more subject-oriented path as soon as I go digital. Soon I'll have some photos with actual subjects from a recent trip.

Not gonna lie to you mate but it just looks like a photo from a facebook album called: "Me and My Pets!!!!!" so i doubt there is much in the way of processing that can make it better.
Processing a photo is like sprinkling hundreds and thousands on a cake, if the cake tastes like this the hundreds and thousands ain't gonna save it ie, if the photo is boring, all the processing in the world won't save it.

I have lots of examples from my own work as to why you are wrong about that, but I agree in part. A boring photo will still be boring even with interesting processing, but it can be very, very visually appealing and come off as really nice even though the context and subject matter is boring with appropriate processing.
I might post a comparison example of one of my raw photos vs processed later, just have to find one that'd be adequate to support my argument here.

So I'm at my paid "internship" at a dried ingredient company as an assistant to the companies one photographer/graphic designer and right now I'm doing a page for their dried mushrooms and needed an image to go behind the page header, [URL="http://i.imgur.com/3kpXE.png"]like this[/URL], so I came up with these. Sadly we don't stock fresh, hydrated, product, so I had to use the dry mushrooms which make it harder to identify them as mushrooms. I'll probably use the third one, because dried mushrooms suck for macros.
