alright, self-portrait, without such heavy post-processing. or, well, in my opinion without such heavy processing. crit?
the processing looks baaaad in my opinion, everything is spot on apart from that chair on the right and the extreme contrasty colours
the processing looks baaaad in my opinion, everything is spot on apart from that chair on the right and the extreme contrasty colours
dammit, looks like i need more PP practice. anyhow, thanks. :>

I think that the plants take up too much of the picture. I'd like it more when the church would be more visible.
personally i'd say slippery, just pull it back a bit to maintain a natural look :)
personally i'd say slippery, just pull it back a bit to maintain a natural look :)
i believe i can do that. so, just pull out the colors a little more and i should be good?
I would move the framing to the left a lot, so you're not on the edge of the frame. I really dislike that framing and it could be improved by what i said.
what blaze said too, but not centered! make the smoke and you have equality in the frame so your mouth is center if you get me?
what blaze said too, but not centered! make the smoke and you have equality in the frame so your mouth is center if you get me?
i understand, however, that may be a bit hard. it was sitting on a small chair, and it was slightly breezy, so it's a bit hard to control the smoke. as for the framing about me being a bit too far to the left, i will take that into consideration. thanks a bunch guys, if you have anything else that would help, keep 'em coming, please. :)
Well okay, but even so aren't you still having to max out your aperture in order to get such a long shutter speed?
I myself have an ND400 which is what was suggested to me in order to be able to do anything good in daylight without going over the diffraction limit.
Essentially, yes. I have to push my aperture to f22 (goodbye depth-of-field) in order to get a decent shot during the day. My ND8 was more or less just a "starter" so I could get used to using one.
Maybe I'll invest in a Big Stopper, eventually. I'm a little strapped for cash now, since I just bought a Lensbaby.

Cropped it to 1920x1080 to use as a wallpaper and uploaded it but I can only download it at 1600x900, does anyone know why?

Sorry for the "hipster" filter, I made two versions of this but I accidentally removed the one without filters.
I also made an animated one:

The last 2 are a bit boring, but I like the processing in the penultimate one.
I love the others though, and the animation is a brilliant idea! Maybe revisit that idea and try and get it less shaky?

Thank you! Yeah, I agree that the last ones are a bit boring.
I'm glad you liked the animation! I will probably make another one off different subject and with a tripod, so it doesn't shake.

Sorry about the mass posting of my pictures just got back from a big holiday and got tonnes of photo's to look through.

still been working on my processing. took a new portrait and bumped up the colors a lot, warmed it up a little also. i dropped the contrast off of the photo so that shouldn't be a huge issue. so now, how am i doing with my processing?

I think it's a bit much, going by the highlights of his shirt in the After pic.
Well now it looks like a sunny day insted of a cloudy day so that's cool.

i'd say it's a bit much for other reasons. Mostly it's the depth of field that gets me, it looks too sharp and lots of small circles instead of larger ones that blend together nicely, it's kind of distracting imo.
Did some firefly shots. Although conditions are probably not ideal for them here right now.
