yo bopie just wanted to say, it's great to see you trying some more varied stuff as of late, some really nice shots, also sounds like you and I both have a bit of a reckless nature when it comes to taking photos, but hey it's worth it for the shots you get from those situations.
just gonna toot my own horn for a moment here,
Everyone I went kayaking with tried to discourage me from taking the camera on board with me, but i'm glad I did, even if the shots I got weren't particularly amazing, they're still a fuck bunch more interesting than the generic kind of shots I usually get (or at least I feel), simply because to me, they tell a story, and i'll have those photos to remember those kind of stories one day and i'm glad I take risks in order to capture a tangible memory.
Basically, to anyone reading this, don't be afraid to take risks, sure you value your equipment but don't forget that equipment can be replaced, repaired etc should anything bad happen to it.
More than likely, if you have the confidence in yourself, nothing bad will happen anyway, and it really is worth it if you have that confidence, makes you feel proud of yourself for taking a risk and coming out of it unharmed/with photos to boast, that doesn't mean you guys should all go rock climbing without harnesses with your dslrs or something, but don't be afraid to take a camera wherever you go, even if it's just a point and shoot, because you'll still gain experience and those tangible memories by having one with you
so many times i've gone out and regretted not taking my camera, so many events and occasions that I thought I shouldn't take my camera because it'd be a hassle..

These are cool. Gritty and raw.
Went gone and smashed 20 bottles of cheap beer at sunset (watch in HD).

[QUOTE=matreox;36825547]I think you have better chance of selling some of your earlier shots, that is quite generic.[/QUOTE]
Generic sells though.
well I mean you could crop it out
[QUOTE=mac338;36825292]Hey guys, do you think I should sell prints of this one?[/QUOTE]
It is nice to look at a couple times but I think a print has to be interesting for a long time.
I guess a crop like [url=http://i.imm.io/x3fE.png]this[/url] beeing like three meters wide in a bright room would be cool but in the end I don't know if you can blow your picture up this large.
He could easily return in simulate conditions and do a panorama.
I think that would have much higher chance of selling. He could blow it up if he has a decent megapixel count.

That's awesome you caught that.
The second feels a bit overexposed/washy. The first one is pretty good about that.
Tried something a little different, straight up portraiture.

Great portrait. Loving the green leafy background, although the foreground leaves are a bit distracting.
Got any more?

I disagree, the leaves in the front add more interest instead of a boring portrait of someone in front of a green background. If they weren't there, it would almost look like a school photo of some sort.
Finally got my D90 in the mail, just in time for my trip to Canada in a week

Yes, but it could be positioned better.
That being said, I'm just saying what little crit I have of the photo, it's excellent nevertheless.

tried messing with RAW data, making bigger changes to temp, exposure, vibrance and stuff like that. trying to make pics look nice without treading into tacky/cliche/overdone territory. also did HDR but im afraid im overdoing it esp with the "another cheap HDR pic" one of the field and the sky.

not sure, tried to mess around with a high contrast post, dunno if I really like it..

I used startrails.exe to see how well it does the startrail thing, and that was the result.

I like it, very nice colours, but I can't help but notice the amount of noise in the image. A little noise reduction wouldn't hurt. I can't decide whether or not I like the foreground leaves. Oh well, it's a great picture so that's what matters.
pretty sure that's film grain
i really like it the way it is actually
6x6 exposure, Portra 160 expired 2008.
Film grain indeed.

I can't wait until I finish working. By August, I would have worked 49 days out of the last 56. With an average shift of 12 hours a day.
Bring on the summer. Looking forwards to being able to edit and post the shit ton of a backlog I've built up in the past few months. Big Love guys.
P.S. I know there's a greenish/yellow colour cast, but It's been edited as part of a bigger series for my colleagues at Wimbledon to be put on facebook. They love that hipster shit innit.
Hey guys.. it's been some time since I last posted here.
I haven't touched my camera for a few months now.. but just two days ago I went to Italy and had some nice days.
Spent the better half of today reading through this thread (currently at page 66) and you guys just posted amazing pictures.
I ditched flickr in favor of 500px and made a small Userscript that gives me the flickr style bb code:
[url=http://500px.com/photo/10084913][img]http://pcdn.500px.net/10084913/dccede7c9c026b7cf37c35f9b46dd17484a2bb00/4.jpg[/img][/url]

Will post the finished script tomorrow along with some other photos.
G'night!
I love the colours of summer
