ND400 will do about 8 stops, so combined with a small aperture, you might be able to get something particularly long. Don't know about 30 minutes though, coz I've never tried it.
I use a polarizer and ND128, at ISO 50 and F/22 with a 1/8000 shutter speed* that's good enough for a good 10-30 minute exposure in the morning. If you got a lot of turbulence high up that's long enough. Especially if you got a wind direction that matches the motives direction. Also interesting is when cold air in the stratosphere meets heating air in the troposphere and push each other in opposing directions creating cross-section clouds. Rare, but always neat-looking on long exposure.

Call me stupid, but how do you have a 1/8000 shutter speed, but expose it for 10-30 minutes?

I have me a new desktop wallpaper, however. I'll take 50% off that bill now.

Found a creepy lookin', sealed sewer entrance right in the middle of the woods.
Thought?
Not really happy with any of my pictures I'm getting on my Washington, D.C. vacation :(
I feel like I'm really lacking when it comes to angles and creativity. Mostly because the shots I want are forced to be taken from far away, and also trying to work around all of the view obstructions. I've mostly been using the wide angle and telephoto. I have a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 from like the 80's, but it's Manual focus and the camera seems to over-estimate when the image is actually in focus.
Also, does this look like filter-rape? I feel like it might. I have one day left to go get photo redemption before I head back to FL.
Feedback / tips much obliged.

I actually didn't use DoF post. I only added some dynamic / tonal contrast as well as some saturation boost. In some cases I agree too much. I plan to go back and fix them on my desktop which has better software. Took some this afternoon that shouldn't need much post processing.

Here are a few from today. Turned out okay.
This one's a bit dark, but I kind of like the cartoon / comic look of it.

I'm a bit sad about the photos because I managed to change my camera's resolution from 1600 x 1200 to 4000 x 3000. The photos are a bit butchered because uploaded to facebook but I thought I would share it all the same.
Due to an excessive lack of money, I cannot afford a DSLR or an SLR in this case, so I just use a Canon IXUS 110 IS that I have had for a long while.

Couple of shots from my vacation in Stockholm. C&C very much appreciated.
Saw this man just standing there while i was walking down the opposite street and i couldn't resist taking this photo. Don't really know how i should edit it after, but theese three are some examples i have. First one is edited and croped, second is just edited and the third one is the raw. Which one do you think is best, and what could i have done different?

Favorite one out of the batch. The others were great as well though.
Here's a shot from my last day here in D.C. at the Smithsonian Zoo. Pretty satisfied. Hoping the colors aren't too dark. It's hard to tell for me because I'm working from my laptop, which isn't calibrated and shows up rather light. Crap viewing angle as well.

Thanks for the compliment man, I'm really satisfied with the lighting in this one too. It's not terribly hard. Took it with a 28-105mm Nikon Nikkor Lens on a Nikon D7000. I'd argue that the same picture could be taken with my D3100 or even something cheaper so long as you can shoot manually. Check out the Flickr for lighting information. I got lucky with the composition, also I had my 10 year old brother at my disposal to use as a model.
