The first one isn't displaying anything for me, the depth is obviously what you were aiming to capture but i feel you would have needed a wider lens to actually make it your subject. Flip it horizontal and throw a human subject in there and you have a different story though. The second would look a lot better landscape i think, not feeling it in portrait. Keep shooting, as always.

Maybe if you deepen the shadows a little and give the colors just a TAD more saturation of some sort. Of course this is one opinion.
