I realized I haven't posted here for awhile so I apologize for the image dump. I'll try to keep it brief. Thanks in advance if you take the time to look through them all.

Before everyone goes off on me for macro shots, it was my birthday, I trapped in the passengers seat of an Audi A6 in heavy traffic, bored out of my mind, and raining. A perfect birthday. :P I also love the physical challenge of doing the "reversed lens" macro trick. Since it requires your body to be the focusing ring and then having to deal with a such a narrow DOF, that is if you don't lock the aperture down by pressing the "DOF Preveiw" button down as you dismount the lens, all while in start and stop traffic.

This is from the premiere of the documentary about the Honor Flight program here in the US that flies WWII veterans to D.C. to see the WWII Memorial there. (This premiere also set the world record for the largest audience for a premiere.)

And Finally I crafted my own ND filter from a scrap of Rosco #98 Lighting Gel, layered 3 times and I salvaged a filter mount from a "Center Focus" filter. (The Center Focus was a piece of shit, it was a fisheye with a hole in the center that limited the size of the focal area. Creating a Faux Bokeh effect I guess.)

It was a bitch to edit. Took me ages to get a lot of those reds out without ruining the feel of it.
Think it was alright in the end though. Means a lot to me, this one. It's of one of my best mates, Andrea, chilling in my flat. He came and visited me after Uni before he flew back to Rome - where he's from.

We just sat around chatting, drinking beer together for 2 days.
I like the two vertical lines in the top right. Looks like a clone-stamp tool, but it's just the corners of my wall behind the flowers.

The water droplet photos don't do much for me. Out of focus. But edited well. And I know how tricky it is reverse-lensing.
Although the close-ups of the Audi stuff are slick. Almost stock-photo like. Still not my thing, but executed well.

Super impressed with both you making and the results of your own nd filter.
I've never used one before - let alone tried to make my own. Well done. Great shot of the waterfall.

Haha yeah it's been posted and reposted all over Facebook with everyone adding their own mark etc chinese whispers style.

It's gotten over 20,000 likes across a variety of pages though so that's kinda cool.

Being inspired recently I've decided to post some pictures. I don't photograph all that often but I'd like to get more into it. I like to shoot in B&W because I used to work in restoring B&W photos, no other reason than that really. I'm not sure how these will come across as they looked extremely different on my PC from which I am posting them compared to my Mac on which I edited them. I just assume the (newer) Mac's color settings are the right ones.
