Trying to get my head around flash photography, this is my best attempt so far, taking pp inspiration from disposables.
Go take a look at Jake Stangel's "Dailies" and really his work in general. Not quite for the 'disposable' aesthetic, but he's got a great handle with straight-on flash.
can I ask why you'd do multiple images as opposed to hooking up (or using a wireless) remote shutter and putting it in bulb (leaving shutter open for as long as you want)
I know this has been answered but I feel that an image may help explain the reasons why not to leave the shutter open for a long amount of time. 30 minute exposure and I live rather far from a major city. The 1100D isn't that bad y'know?
Changed my mind.
Whaa, strange DOF effect.
6/10 could paper bag it.
Love the first one

Is that medium format or your 5D? Anyway, looks very nice. You and bopie seem to understand light and use it so well in your pictures
Pentax 6x7ii with 105mm f2.4
Pentax 6x7ii with 105mm f2.4
It's actually the 55mm f/4!
Oh damn that is a great perspective lens. The lighting is brilliant in that shot

Came out great blaze, good job saving dem highlights. Side note: forum! Help me decide between a 65 4.0 vs. a 50 4.5 for my RZ67!
Came out great blaze, good job saving dem highlights. Side note: forum! Help me decide between a 65 4.0 vs. a 50 4.5 for my RZ67!
depends on how you think of wide photography. that would be between a 35mm and 24mm equiv abouts? 65 will be a more natural perspective, with 50 nearing extreme wide. if you are doing far away landscapes i'd say the 65 (to bring them more into the foreground) and if you are doing like less than 30 feet shooting the 50. that's my opinion of it anyways, i'm not terribly fond of wide angles so i would go with the 65. with your style of shooting the 65 seems better suited, but if you are looking for something outside the box of what you do go with the 50. plus you have the 35mm 1.4 for your 5d, which is better lowlight and should provide a thinner DoF than a 65. 50 would be less redundant then. also here's a picture i took in the rain of myself that is very noisy. i'm convinced i look scary
Came out great blaze, good job saving dem highlights. Side note: forum! Help me decide between a 65 4.0 vs. a 50 4.5 for my RZ67!
Oh man. I would so go for the 50. The RZ67/RB67 is like, my dream medium format camera.
Both images are an homage of sorts to Andy Goldsworthy, a seriously cool photographer if you've never heard of him/seen his work.

Blaze, that shot's excellent. Bopie, try going wider and get more of the environment in, so 50.
Came out great blaze, good job saving dem highlights. Side note: forum! Help me decide between a 65 4.0 vs. a 50 4.5 for my RZ67!
On one hand, getting the 65mm f4 seems like the obvious choice because you mainly shoot portraits(though it's still fairly wide). On the other hand, I would really like to see something different from you. Wether that's landscape photography or street or something entirely different that's up to you. I mean, honestly, you have a great style going on with your portraits but I would really like to see what else you can do. So maybe, getting a wider-angle lens would be a good change
I went and got some film developed today and I'm quite pleased with the results. This one was a little underexposed, but I fixed that when I scanned it. Comments and criticism would be appreciated
The middle one is fantastic, I would expect this shot to come from a professional.
Yes! That middle one is Unnnnf. Wonderful color.
Hung out with some friends yesterday, haven't taken anything in like two months so I would like some constructive feedback if possible. Liked this on but it's a lot more contrast then any picture I've taken before crowd by Gentle Doom, on Flickr Drummer by Gentle Doom, on Flickr Guitarist by Gentle Doom, on Flickr Caricature Artist by Gentle Doom, on Flickr
