Guys, a question I've been wondering, is the term "shot" used for photography too or is it only for filming?
Both.
Not sure which I prefer. Or...
Skin looks better in 2, but there seems to be a redish aura around her, splashing color onto her surroundings.
Yeah I was playing with vibrance vs proper exposure and sort of fell in love with the effect of the second one. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] Another one from the set, just for shits.
did she just get out of zumba?

I got invited to take photo's of David Price, that guy from the Beijing olympics. Here are a few of them, I'm not too happy though, it was dark so I had to use a higher ISO sorry fro the recent page-strech :c

Should've removed the other car, at least in the first picture. Als I would've gone for longer shutter times.
Should've removed the other car, at least in the first picture. Als I would've gone for longer shutter times.
I was thinking about it but it didn't bother me enough to take the time to cone it out. I really wanted to use a slower shutter but I was using a pentax takumar 35mm on an adapter so without IS, I couldn't get a sharp photo. Not to mention i was hanging half my body out of an m3 doing 80ish mph so even with IS it would have been tough to use a slower speed.
it may not bother you much but it's unprofessional looking, especially when you're advertising one car in particular. takes the attention off the subject. at least that's the attitude i'd have if i were getting paid for the shots.

you're right, calling yourself a photographer and putting out pictures that aren't up to your best abilities is totally worth it
you're right, calling yourself a photographer and putting out pictures that aren't up to your best abilities is totally worth it
Does my lack of clone-stamping really make you that upset? And were those snapshots you posted up to your best abilities? Here, just for you <3.

Had a trip to London. Nice to be able to use the camera again. Hard to do when cars are rolling by at 150 miles per hour. Still a fun day though.
I feel ya, try those speeds with an RZ! :v: You got so close, I'm jealous - I saw the same cars race earlier in August. Pit passes were sold out, making it hard to shoot anything but random snaps so far away from the track. I saw the shot you posted on FB and came here to post a shot I got of the same team (not sure if it's the same car). But yeah first race I've been to, shits loud yo. I had no idea what was going on but I liked it.
So I picked up a T2i off of eBay on Tuesday, mostly for the video aspect. Received it Thursday and brought it home with me for Labor Day Weekend. I've messed around with it a little bit, and I feel like the following photo is my best shot with it yet. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5027205/IMG_0224Small.JPG[/t] Obviously it ain't perfect, so tell me, where can I improve?
I'm not even going to apologise for being harsh: That shot is garbage. Leave the house, get some natural light, find some people - pets - plants - anything that is not random shit in a mess on your desk. Think before you take your shot "Do people actually want to see my random shit badly arranged in non-dramatic lighting?" If you're sane, you'll come to the conclusion that people do not want to see this, they want to see something interesting. Take photos of interesting things in interesting ways and you will get an interesting photo that will generate interest.

I have a couple outside shots, but because the weather hasn't been cooperating, and I'm not familiar with the camera yet, they turned out to be sub-par. But hey, that's a lame excuse. Thanks for the input, it really is great input. Is their any real workflow for working with RAW? Or is it just import to PS, tweak some settings and filters and such, and save it to another format?
Lightroom is best for RAWs in my opinion, batch imports and edits are hella easy and the faders are well arranged and optimised for photography.
I saw the shot you posted on FB and came here to post a shot I got of the same team (not sure if it's the same car).
Yeah I think it actually is the same car if its the American Le Mans series. Clickthrough for much larger image, by the way. Cars are loud as shit for sure. I had the foresight to bring ear plugs this year. Last year I forgot them and my ears rang for a day or so.
