Took pictures for senior photos of these two. Really like this shot, they were good friends and wanted a few of them together.

How do you get the starlike lights? Whenever I take night pictures I just get... blobs.

I feel like looking at a painting. (That's good)
So I managed to fill two 4GB SD cards and a 1GB one today. I like to time my shots usually, but I was in a car and wanted to capture as much as possible of the landscape. "Future Jookia will organize these shots" I said, "It won't be grueling" I said.
I have a K-5, does anybody know if there's a way to ignore SD cards being locked? My trusty 8GB SD card had its little thing indicating that it's locked come off, and due to the way SD cards work I now can't use it. The alternative is to get some tape.

criticism: The bird and the tree it's sitting on could be a bit closer, maybe?
It seems like you would try to make it central to the picture, so I would like to get to know it a little better. I don't know, I'm pretty high, dude.

Just look at a good 50-60 pages in here, really gives me motivation to go out and take more pictures.

for me it's always been the clarity of the night, if it's super clear then they're starlike, if there's any hint of fog, even the slightest mist then it's blobs of light.

Protip: Make that "friends shoot" a package. I set it up so that if you refer a friend, both you and your friend get a discount, and in addition to a full shoot for each person, they get some pics together.
It's a good way of bringing in some extra business, it's fun for them, and it helps them relax if they've got a friend there.

shot for a macro assignment, i felt like being the one kid that didn't turn in a photo of a flower
could have done better (framing on bottom and dust come to mind) but i really dislike doing macro work :(

well, i was on f/22 i believe, and did like a 4 second exposure? no idea why they come out like that, but yeah.

Stopping down the aperture does that to what would typically be round out of focus highlights. So like he said, f22 caused that
God this was hard to get, there was always a car coming so I either had to risk getting ploughed over, or having a Ford Fiesta in the shot :v

I believe I've got my best landscape shots through this method. Passenger seat shooting is so much fun.
I think you've got it down pretty well. More practice with this sort of thing and I think that you could pump out some grew stuff.
Also Australian landscapes.
