don't know if I like the toning, looks better in photoshop... flickr seems to increase the contrast a bit or something, is that to do with the colorspace?
couple generics

mostly just getting used to depth of field and my few different lenses, but also first time i've realized just how nice it is to play with the tone of the raws of the tones in photoshop
but they've all come out a bit higher contrast(and darker) or something than they were in photoshop, i'm assuming it's the difference in color space used between applications or something, kind of a downer.. any way to work around that that isn't just adjusting it more, saving it and hoping it comes out with the look i'm after?
gonna move onto building/environmental photography, it's what i'm supposed to be doing for school but my area is full of well, cunts, that will start giving me shit for laying a camera at a really low angle all around my local town so I havn't been super fussed to get onto it yet

the photo of me that i stitched together ended at my head and started at my feet (was portrait) and i didn't see it coming so i had to mess around with the shadow. I know it looks a little funny but its the best i could do with it!
PHOTOS AND SHIT
Not gonna lie my first experience of you, you came into this forum guns blazing and i thought you were a bit of a twat and just going to disappear shortly after.
Well you've posted some content and it seems like you're open to criticism and have a willing to learn and are doing just that, its good to see. Your photos are good and have nice tones, but your subjects are mostly a little boring (but i think you're aware of that). Looking forward to see what you do in future.
Some photos I took at school the other day:

not really much in terms of subject around here unless I go out(and because of where I live, there really isn't much unless I catch a bus into town.. just bushland near house), if i'm willing to take a photo of a fork you can probably guess that. Problem is we've been having ridiculously hot days recently, and i'm only borrowing this camera from school to get used to how it works anyway, gonna take advantage of it for school project which is going to be about heritage buildings then something political/social. So should have more interesting things to take photos of once we get into that but past few days i've basically been limited to what's around my house. not gonna go out on 40 degree days
once my final money commitments (basically school ball related stuff) are out of the way i'm gonna save up to buy my own slr. Thing is I only have k-mount lenses, where as i'd want to move onto a canon.. meaning I wouldn't be able to use this old 135mm manual focus which I quite like (and used for a couple of those photos), or the 70-210mm i got
well, suppose theres those modification kits or whatever but just love that I can chuck these onto the camera i'm borrowing
my wireless shutter remote arrived today, but it turns out my D3100 can't use a wireless remote! Why did they do this...
I don't have the best camera out there, but I try and work my ways as best as possible.

that's some nice ass diffused light.
also i want to also let everyone know that they have been posting kick ass work, i've been afraid to post things because i don't feel up to buff with you guys anymore
I feel bad posting critique on everything and not posting anything myself, but my point and shoot broke and i'm still waiting for the store to restock the D3100s.
Here's two I took pretty long ago in what was probably the best set of pictures i've ever taken with that shitty Sony point and shoot.

Couple of shots i took yesterday morning. Woke up at 05:00 just to try and get some good shots at the sunrise, but failed miserably unfortunately.. Need to get me a ND filter to be able to have longer shutter speeds and some new glass for better quality (getting some terrible chromatic aberration)..
The last one would have been so much better (or maybe even good) if i had someone with me to stand as a modell or something..

Thanks for pointing it out.
I looked through my editing, and honestly the original is no better, bad lighting on the spot I guess..

It doesn't look too blown, just really white I think.

It is difficult - more with film I've found.
But I think the clincher to shit shot is the flash from the person in the centre left which is creating that shadow through that person's legs. Beautiful.

I think you're right, but I can't see any detail in its face. And considering it's centre frame, I think it's important to have that detail, even if it's just a little.

I bought a 3rd party one, but I looked into it and there's no menu option for remote trigger, and people on other forums have confirmed that there isn't wireless functionality with the d3100 :(

YOu got 2 artistics and a winner.
I like the last one, but the sloped horizon distracts me a bit, but that's just me.
The one of the dog is a bit too blue, if you shoot in RAW try upping the temperature slider.
I really like the textile picture, the shaddows are really interesting. Spot on.
I like cats. So I like your cat picture. Nice composition and the eye is pretty creepy. Provokes an emotion so I would consider that a win.
TO those worried to post.
DONT FUCKING WORRY.
This community is brilliant for learning and getting critique, thanks to all you guys iv'e learned alot more than I could by just reading articles and shit. Plus on facepunch, not many peopel know eachother so are not biased in what they say.
Post away.
I'm pretty sure Nikon uses 2.5mm plugs for the release cables, you could probably make a really long one for real cheap.
