It's not truly that much better than the d800 really, more hype than anything. They don't even remove the aliasing filter, they just added another one to try and "anti-blur" the other one. But with 36mp resolution, it's pretty weak in the first place, and the lenses will account for more sharpness difference than a small detail like the filter. But the d800 is a pretty neat camera, shame about the batch with focus issues though.

What you say is mostly true, but you DEFINITELY notice the difference, I was privileged enough to see the two side by side with results at the end. And I got to say there is a MAJOR sharpness difference in low light situations, and on contrast images.
Plus the D800E is FAR superior with astrophotography.

I think if it was natural FILM grain it would be TOTALLY appealing.
But as it just looks like colour noise it lets it down.

Lots of expression coming off of those images. I know little of street photography but those in particular have something that's definitely done right in them.

I did colour noise reduction in post, I think it's just from underexposing 400 ASA Superia

It's a real beaut. To me, I think the stock suspension, without the lowering and stuff looks best, it keeps its original look for me.

It's on airbags so it's only this low when it's parked. The ride height it cruises at is truly sublime. I do agree that this much camber does look bad on this car though. If it had a less aggressive stance on springs it would be perfect.
