Love it, this is what I've always wanted to do with selfies in the desert but haven't ever done it. Great light and tones

Bopie, treating his new photographic landscape with tenderness and respect.
I was shooting for fun (and portfolio), and I really liked these 3 from the shoot. Going to re-shoot sometime this week or so, hopefully I'll get more.

I'd play around with the highlights in the grass a little bit. Maybe boost the vibrance (not much though) and highlights and play with the yellows?
Have a shot of where my friend was living right in the heart of the East End.

is there any context to the photos or was it more of an experiment of ideas.

The Bag headded businessman was my take on the recession my tutor told me to just take something that symbolized it so this was what i did. the first one was meant to be raised off the ground it is but it should have been higher but that was to show how the ground is just torn up around you and the bag is meant to represent the faceless part of it as pretty much everybody is facing the recession.
the Mud shot was generally how i hear people talk about their working conditions at the moment people having pay cuts people being told they have to work for nothing generally being treated like dirt < so original and clever but apart from that yeah it was just a test of ideas, any thoughts on composition ect?

Hey mate, not sure if it's considered sin in the photography world, but is it possible for you to post up the original pre - pp?
It's one thing to be able to capture subjects and compose perfectly, but the second part of it is the post processing to emphasise the subject, create the mood etc etc.
yeah, bopies way of editing his photos are really fucking great.
Winter is here. Fucking snow, so hard to take photos in
This is my band:
yeah, bopies way of editing his photos are really fucking great.
While I will agree that he is an excellent editor, you can't undermine that the shots in general are about 95% of what he is doing, which he has definitely proven with his film. Editing is nothing without a great shot underneath.
^agreed
Here's another from the London Pleasure Gardens where my friend was living.

i honestly think it would look more appealing without the border.

This is a lot darker than I thought it would be. How do you not lose details when you lighten that up?
i honestly think it would look more appealing without the border.
Ah, I'd completely forgotten to remove it after scanning.
I think I actually agree with you. I'm not a massive fan of borders on an image, unless it drastically adds to the feel or emotion of the still.
Will get on that later methinks.
Certainly, sir.
I never think to rotate things. It makes such a difference too. I don't even know how.
The fact that it seems like you keep so much detail when lighting it up, is amazing. Makes me want to really try some good PP. I just have no idea what i'm doing,
its flipped, not rotated :v:
Here's another. Taken on the same day as the last two shots.
This is a lot darker than I thought it would be. How do you not lose details when you lighten that up?
I opened it up in photoshop and by just upping the brightness you can get a similair result
its flipped, not rotated :v:
YA FEEL ME

I flip most of my selfies, I like seeing them how I see myself in the mirror, but I usually have an asymmetrical haircut so that's why
But the brightening is really sweet nice job doing that
