Went to a little girl's party the other day, took a series of free photos for the mother because she isn't doing too well with money; she couldn't afford a professional photographer. She seemed to be really happy with my work, let me share some of it with you guys.

work on centering the subject a little more, you want to avoid cutting it off in any way. also, that arm(?) on the left side needs to not be there, one reason editing is very helpful. compositionally it's not fantastically interesting, try working with the rule of thirds a little. next time shoot to have her on the side of the picture or something, maybe looking towards the opposite side. figure out what looks best in the moment. also, like you said, you could brighten it up to bring out more detail and make it more appealing. not to sound mean, but strive to take a shot that totally fucking owns this shot.

Thanks for the tips, the photo above isn't edited at all so I would've removed the bit at the side and changed the brightness. It was a complete spur of the moment so didn't really spend much time with composition and things.

i dig the concept, and it looks good (possibly underexposed but its not that big an issue). only thing i would say is, in my opinion, it would look a bit better if you centered him vertically or maybe gave him more head room instead. i feel like that would give the picture more "space", which would fit well considering the subject matter. that's really a matter of opinion, though. solid shot otherwise.

well i can just move the crop since i cropped it in lightroom but since it was a self portrait it was annoying as hell trying to get the composition right with enough headroom whilst not trying to fall off a ladder haha, Cheers though

Can't help but feel these are a bit overdone, might want to try toning it down a bit. They look a tad HDR, and it doesn't suit them very nicely.

Is there a way to set the size of the scaled image for the boards?

it's pretty cool... but it lacks a subject, above all else. i would also recommend playing around with lightroom or photoshop if you have either, your shot could benefit from a generally warmer tone.

also, i can see chromatic aberration on the edges. that's cool, my lens is fucked too!

Ah, thanks. I do own Photoshop, so I'll edit it for next time. I just got a new lens as well (50mm/f1.4), so it'll be nice to have a clean lens.

Typically 24 or 36
