I like how they merge together.
I'm not sure how I feel about the first. The blue tone really sets an unusual mood, but I can't decide if that's really that good or not. The second I don't care for, it's kinda generic
I love the first one to death, it just makes me sad that blown up it starts to get soft rapidly. It's really a beautiful picture and I wish it held together well enough to make a 1920x1200 background. But I imagine that's mostly technical, not a creative issue.
Huge dump incoming!

it started off extremely noisy because the XS handles high ISO values pretty badly, and my friend had my low-light lens at the time, so i had to crank up the ISO and get rid of it/sharpen it in photoshop. hopefully i'll have my t3i soon so i wont have to worry about that anymore. thanks, anyway.

Really not digging these unfortunately, seems like a step back from your usual quality. I think it's that there is very little conversation with the viewer, I feel almost threatened by the subjects? Hard to put, like they are too cool for me. Another thing I can point out specifically is the grass colour in the second photo, looks really unnatural to me (have sooc?).
I have a few things to post here:

Took these using this point-and-shoot, minimal photoshopping.
Great shots there DeadCow. I especially love the second one. Fantastic composition and mood. Superb overall.
took these last night, really not sure how i feel about either

I love the both, but I think that the 2nd one needs cropping and made central, then it would look even more awesome. keep it up :)

i actually kind of liked the 2nd one initially, i think because it just seems to lean to the right. i see what you mean, though. thanks for the advice.

discodude this image is awesome, the orange in the middle makes the entire photo.
making a short series of photographs for my school coursework just to talk about the different bits of kit I use and I did one with my torch because I do a lot of light-drawing for my course and I just wondered what you guys thought?

it's pretty cool, i kind of like how the mirrors create that empty space in between, and it's properly exposed. i'd say mission success
Going to a remembrance memorial tomorrow. What shots shall I get?
My school's printing room. Wondering what you guys think about it being slightly out of focus - whether or not that adds to the photo's mood?

I'd say top priority is to be respectful and then I'd be thinking photojournalism in my head, good luck!!
This is the first creative thing I've done with digital photography in a long, long time. A self portrait, this effect was accomplished entirely without post processing (besides the removal of two small specks in the outside black area and conversion to B&W)

Messes with my head, great shot. Crop the top and bottom and center him a bit more, it would look awesome. Nice work.

hell yeah.
although, i'm looking through all the photos i took during it and i've noticed that while everyone else was taking photos of the fireworks, i was busy taking photos of people's backs as they watched said fireworks

Only bad thing about my D3000 is how badly it performs at high ISO's, that was at 1600 1/20, I still love it to bits though.
I'm buying a 7d soon and getting some primes for it.
