I really like the second shot matey
Thanks very much! I just replaced my tripod that's been broken with one that should last me a good long time and I was excited to get out and use it.
I'm really liking your post-processing style. Very provoking colors. I'm trying to get a bit more into color photography, but with my three semesters of classes in B/W I tend to compose strictly based on values and it's a challenge to start seeing differently, as well as post-process for it.
Thanks man, I tried to get some interesting colour schemes going with these two! Give it a shot! Your extensive B/W work will have given you a better eye for composition so with that in hand use it to your advantage with colour and just experiment :)

Do you know how hard it is to get a falling bouncy ball in focus as well as keeping it sharp and getting in frame, pretty difficult.
as difficult as it may have been, the only one i find even remotely interesting is the second one. the ball and the idea behind the shot aren't enough for me to care about them, ignoring the fact that all but the second are composed a bit off. the fact of the matter is that "in the moment" pictures like these are made less interesting when they are staged; you complaining about the process doesn't make them any more interesting. that said, the second is cool, if not a little too cropped-in for my tastes.
~${snip}$~
I like the lighting and the composition, the second one is especially interesting. But the inner snob has to agree with Big Blue in part. Try expanding on your idea, add more elements and interest - change the lighting, add more foreground or background interest.
(got to borrow my friend's 60d today)

I enjoy the highly motivational and inspiring use of the $ symbol in this. It emotes a stark reality of greed and corruption in todays snips.

cc would be appreciated
I like the idea of the last one, but i suggest cropping it in so the door fills more of the frame, and also straighten it out a bit
What trogdon said, the first two haven't much to them, but the last is pretty neat.
thanks for the crit, i was trying for a feeling of openness, like the door is in the middle of nowhere, which is why i didn't crop.
i like the first one a lot, and agree with trogdon on the last one, but you don't have to crop it much to achieve the effect you're looking for. it's cool but it does seem a little too empty
A little all over the place in terms of just about everything photography related. A little lost in terms of inspiration and motivation.
Not sure...

Not too happy with it, what do you think I should change?
i can't really think of much as it's already pretty stylized. it's a good shot, only thing i guess i'd say is that the guy on the left is more interesting than the guy on the right because of the lighting on his mask and the smoke. not a huge deal, and you might have been going for that. also you may want to consider isolating the design between them a little more by darkening that space between them, or making the design more present. really up to you, though, it's pretty solid as it is

I'd take few steps back, a bigger headroom works wonders for images that have logos on them.
imho.

Are there any other cool places around York for taking photos? I've mainly been hanging around markets for like the last 4 months now
