took some time to work with my UWA, trying to get a better feel for it. still not super comfortable with the 12mm, it's weird to shoot with such deep DoF. Makes me realize how much I rely on DoF and sharp glass to make good photos. went out to take some long exposures, didn't realize the moon wasn't out at all :/ but i was out there so i tried to make the best of it, pretty happy with this picture given the circumstances. First one is composed pretty well, but you are getting it from the wrong angle. If you got it from the front it would be better lit and easier on the eyes, and from the side it would be pretty well lit and have a better contrast. Shooting into the shadows isn't as advisable as shooting away from or on the side of the shadows. Second one is fabulous, love the colours and the contrast. it is beautifully composed - your eye naturally starts at the top left (people "read" photos like a book, top to bottom, left to right) and the cloud leads you to the chimney which leads down to the buildings. The last one is my least favoruite as it is pretty uninteresting. I feel that if you took it from lower, as to create both a foreground and background it could have a better aesthetic, but it still stands as a pretty lacking subject. Hope that wasn't too harsh :)
