The blue looks totally overdone but apart from that it has a very light, sort of happy aura :)
Yeah the blues are a bit too vibrant for my taste, but i really like the greens. they are very complementing
I found a house. This is my house now. All of it. broohoo

I suppose I've been playing too much Mirrors Edge lately :v:
It was intended to be vibrant though, but I suppose I did overdo it a bit.

Every time you post that photo, the gods are angered and I twitch and cringe.

I know you all are used to high quality camera work, but I thought I'd just like to share this picture, because I literally have no one else that would care. I don't know, maybe I'll just be ridiculed here, but if your hearts in the right place, right?

We are open to all types of photograph quality. Check out the mobile phone thread.

It wasn't taken through a mobile phone.

The water mark is very distracting for me, with the outer glow especially.
Your photos aren't bad, I just feel like it's too much of the same. By that I mean I've seen all those poses and camera angles before, as well as the editing style. Maybe try varying the things you do a little bit. Spice it up a little. It's always a good experience to step outside your comfort zone every now and then.
I do think the first one is okay though. Probably the best of the set.

The tilted camera throws me off too. I like my horizons alighted with the top and bottom edges.

So I'm going back to re-edit some of my old photos because they were over saturated.
Is this any better?

I feel like the face should have a metal thing on the edge, The clean cut face doesn't fit with the feathered head.
other than that I love it

It not that kind of thing, I was just wondering what beast goes to 20,000 iso.
1dx
It not that kind of thing, I was just wondering what beast goes to 20,000 iso.
most full frames do 100-25600 typically now, with extending to 50-51200 to 256000. and a few aps-c cameras do 25600, i think the sony 16 megapixel sensor does.
uhh here's a photo i took on film, i think i need to come up with a better workflow to scan my pictures they are coming out noisy and not sharp
and maybe i should calibrate my monitor this is a bet yellow on my iphone :(

1dx at 204,800 looks like 5d2 at 25,600. Unusable, but cool gimmick/tool for night vision live view

Ah. Thats cool. My d3100 goes to about 3200 max, and looks like balls. Which is fine for me, I kinda changed my career focus from photography to broadcasting, so, being recreational, I don't really need to shoot on a professional level. It was kind of a pipe dream for me anyways.
i have a nex 5 which has the same sensor as the d3100 (meaning images look the same for the most part), you can get pretty sweet results at iso 3200, just depends on the size you are presenting it at and how you shot it. it can definitely be used for professional applications, i've done some gigs using that iso with that same sensor. like bopie said it really is how you use it.
Steve while I'm not necessarily liking your recent work, I'm really happy that you're digging into a very unique style that's consistent but every photo is fresh, profoto territory in my opinion

Really? The noise just about kills me when its that high. I'm probably just not using it right, and am afraid to leave my comfort zone.

a good way to use high iso is to make sure the image is bright (like one stop over) because the more white you have the less noise you have, then stick to scenes with limited colors and dynamic range. contrast helps as well. and make sure you nail your focus, and when you edit out the noise, try to mostly get the color noise, the rest doesn't need to be gone entirely, just enough to not be distracting at whatever size you plan to view it at (not 100%). and lastly, when you sharpen it use a larger radius, because it will sharpen edges and not the noise itself.

I'll definitely have to try all of this, thanks a ton for the advise!
if you use a filter which will pass through just green and shoot in B/W you will get a lot less noise aswell (if you're using a camera with the normal Bayer array which you probably are) in theory

On to my 3rd day of the 365 project. I'm liking the idea of forcing myself to shoot. Not sure how I feel about this one though, particularly because of the skew pillar lines in the background. I didn't want to crop it because then I lose a lot of the space in the photo itself. Let me know what you guys think of it!

Just rediscovered the image on my dad's laptop.
The rectangular stones in the ground are actually plates that point to distant cities like London, Berlin and so on.
The mountain is the "Brocken", highest mountain in my area and former main concetration point of the iron curtain.
First thanks "iWumbo" for your comments.
And second "wtf" to jaanus and Eltro102
Im trying to get serious comments about my photographs and you post such things?
Also Jaanus you are a Moderator and should act more like an adult.
Reported both of the posts .... doesnt fit the Thread.
