And second "wtf" to jaanus and Eltro102
Im trying to get serious comments about my photographs and you post such things?
Also Jaanus you are a Moderator and should act more like an adult.
Reported both of the posts .... doesnt fit the Thread.

most of your photos are uninspiring and generic, especially the 4th one
Maybe you should know that from time to time we crack some jokes in this sub forum.
The sentence "New here and now im going to show some things off." doesn't exactly say that you want comments of any kind but rather makes your post look like "Hi I'm new here and this is what I've done".
If you want constructive criticism why don't you start writing what you think of your photos, what you think were your errors and maybe ask for specific topics like "How to compose to achieve a certain mood".

I think you would be lying if you wouldn't want to http://www.daviddarling.info/images/Descartes.jpg

I wonder what made you choose Facepunch as a place for posting your photography in the first place :v:
I mean, we're accepting towards new people, but you should be lurking a bit first to figure out what kind of people you're dealing with here.
Well pretty solid shots on the goth chicks but since they are more functional than "creative" it would be nice to know what you/they are using them for. For instance while the last one is a nice scene in itself, the lane vanishing in the perspective sorta draws the atention away from the model.
The first one is pretty good in its tightness.

Serious comments: Shitty framing, uninspired locations/posing, over the top post processing. Also you seem pretty pretentious.
Too many photos of cats from me I know, but when I see my cat under nice lighting I can't help but grab my camera and take a quick photo. Also, CC?

Bit harsh but they were my thoughts exactly, especially the framing but hold the pretentiousness.

That's being a tad too harsh towards him, don't you think?
First you should give him actual criticism, like how he should've done the framing for instance and how to improve his photos overall.
And unless he then acts all stupid about it and tells you that you're wrong and his photos are perfect, you shouldn't be saying demoralizing and straight up hurtful stuff like that.
Anyways, content:

Love the ideas behind the first two but the subjects are kinda lost in the second though.
I think that's the point.
Love the ideas behind the first two but the subjects are kinda lost in the second though.
It's hard to make them visible while still showing off the massive scale :I
I can imagine but with them being so lost it kinda loses the impact for me
I like it.
A different idea for the same concept would be being very close to the climbers and using a very wide angle lens/make a panorama, that would look awesome too. Big subjects - Wide surroundings.

You're probably right, but keep in mind that I did not even know these people, I was just using a 100-400mm while sitting on a bus that drove past them.
I was just thinking "aloud"
Some sheep nearby my house:

DarkInfection, well done on getting people to pose for you - it's not that easy to convince somebody (at least if you're a shy duck like me).
Since you're photographing Goth girls, try to sit down and think what is it, visually, about Goth girls that makes them interesting. I did some thinking for you and I came up with the following: intense make-up, weird hairstyle, super weird clothing.
You can exploit those things in order to make your photos stand out - shoot a portrait for the make-up and hair, try a full-body crop to underline their legs/clothes. Always keep in mind what is the main charm of the picture and build the image around it. You don't have to shoot the whole girl at once! I find it easier to focus on elements that catch my attention and then, if I want to do it, move out and shoot wider.
Also, try to avoid being so far above your models - it gives a vibe of an instagram facebook duckface picture and not a real photograph. It also makes the legs really, really short visually.
Good luck!

also I have a picture, give me delicious CC!

Loving this set by Roll_Program
Hiked up Ben Nevis last Weekend. It was pretty chilly, and a hard climb, but worth it. I think I can edit these better, just need some more practice. (Any weird vignette is from the lens, not added).

It's pretty common to joke around on this thread. You're taking jokes too personally. Don't expect to get a huge bandwagon of people hopping on to your photos. You didn't even ask you criticism. You just said you were "showing off" some photos. If you want good criticism, you're going to have to take harsh criticism some times, not the sugar coated, super light criticism like mine.
I'm liking the food photography Kabstrac!

It's really amazing what light pollution from cities can do to your scenes..

this is great. framing and focus are awesome, and most importantly looks tasty! definitely menu quality stuff.
Do you know how hard it is to find someone who does B&W film developing? I'm going nuts.

Kodak makes some very nice c-41 developing BW film, that's what I use. can't push it as much as TX max i'm sure, but has the convenience of being able to develop it anywhere
pageking ;( will post a scan when i get around to it

I understand if you don't wanna spend to get what you need, but if you get a tank and a reel, and a changing bag, you can develop B+W in your bathroom sink. It's really not that difficult or sensitive of a process, so with a cheap thermometer and measuring tools you can easily mix up the chemicals and develop it. It's not that hard once you get into it.
The C41 black and white is also another good option, have yet to try it personally though.
