I think the reason I don't want risk weather damage is because I payed so much for it, and if it dies, thats it. No more DSLRs or digital photography for me. I won't be able to afford another one. I have to focus what little cash I have on car shit and college shit now. content, c&c if you would like pirate golf by Jacob A. Digging through overlooked stuff in my archive and using them as pp practice opportunities. Trying to get my head around cutting highlights without losing contrast or definition like I'm admiring in this Taschen polaroid book my ex got me for my birthday last year.
they're a little dark, even considering the situations. The first one was a good idea, not sure if it was composed as well as it could've been (don't know the situation)
Its a anamatronic pirate at my local mini golf. The smoke is from a smoke machine in the cannon next to him, and I'm on the balcony with my friends next to him. To be honest, I was going for dark. I like the idea of a dark fade in the sides, and a use of negative space. I can understand what you are saying about the third one though. I think I should have boosted the highlights now that you mention it.
nothing spectacular, was just at the mexican border today, and snapped this through my friend's car window. i'd like to visit juarez, but i'm not entirely too certain how safe it is over there for someone like me.

yes i disagree you should put your dslr in snow all the time!
I don't know if this is really the type of thread to post photos you get commissioned and paid to take.
Whine more, those were personal projects. and regardless... whine more.

What do you mean by "cutting highlights without losing contrast or definition"? That shot is really quite amazing mate.
we have this discussion every time karlhungus posts photos and it annoys me, so fuck if he is a professional photographer? I've been paid for photos before which makes me a professional photographer as far as the terminology goes. Stop being petty guys.
he posts a whole 'nother kind of photos in here, and i personally really like that.
i can see where both sides are coming from for example, he takes nice photos then pops up out the blue and posts photos, and any other post that isn't his photos is just him telling people to stop fucking complaining so really, he's not contributing to the "community" which i suppose is annoying however, this is an open platform for people to receive comments on their work and to show it to new people so whatever
definitely agree with the first point cue, a bit of contribution to the community other than posting his photographs would be appreciated

I've admired photos that manage to stay poppy and contrasty without having clipped highlights (or lowlights) and have found it a struggle to achieve that sort of effect. Thanks for the feedback guys but I'm still on the fence about it, not sure it's the direction I want to be heading in with my photos - I am tempted to have it up on my Flickr but I can't say I'm 100% on it myself which opposes my philosophy.

It's the things you're 'on the fence about' that make you who you are.
Said I'd give you some of the 70-200mm F4 L pictures I got, so here they are. Nothing amazing, but it was a horrible overcast day so made the most of it. Or should I only post setup and BTS posts?
People are just bitching because you don't contribute much to the thread other than posting your own images and talking about them. But you know, I don't have anything against it.

why does it matter if he "contributes to the community"? this is a thread for posting your work, he is posting his work in fact, I would only complain if he was giving harsh criticism but not posting a single piece of his own

This was a client who came to me and commissioned portraits to send to some guy she was boning over seas in the military.
just out of interest, have any models ever complained about being edited to look thinner? :v:
just out of interest, have any models ever complained about being edited to look thinner? :v:
Curious also. Did she actually ask you to remove her ass/hips?
just out of interest, have any models ever complained about being edited to look thinner? :v:
She asked for it
i know i know, but there were quite a few you've posted before that were all edited similarly, was wondering about them
