[QUOTE=HiddenMyst;39457914]These are the results from my first ever roll of transparency film. There's something real magic about holding a positive up to the light and seeing how it came out.

Nice photos dude I love the costume. I strongly advise you to watch carefully where your model is looking. When your model looks directly out of the frame, it leads my eyes straight out of the frame and nowhere else which makes the photo pretty boring and easy to overlook at face value. To avoid this sort of thing happening, try to either have the subject looking at the camera (doesn't have to be straight in the lens, general direction will do), and if they are not make sure they are looking at something within the frame so the eye does not leave it (like in the third).

I am concerned at how fast you are improving, not only are your photos inspiring but your velocity in photo quality is inspiring me to shoot more.

Thanks for the advice mate. It's the first time I've really tried shooting with a model, so a whole lot of it was just guesswork, so it's good to have a bit of a better understanding for next time.

My favorite shots from 3 nights of working this week
Wish I could get shots like that with my 60d.
What's with that purple and yellow stuff over the first four? Is that something you add in post?

light trails from shooting at slow shutter speed
white balance is set for flash because flash is used, hence the colour casts

also being in a club would help with coloured lighting i guess :v:

Very cool shot, superb exposure.
I had a bloody hard time with this. My girlfriend went "reef walking" at AQWA (Aquarium of Western Australia). There's a downstairsy bit with glass to peer into the tank. The glass was very very dirty from kids touchy and banging on it so the shots came out null. My camera was hunting for focus so much. A lot of the shots were out of focus too. Regardless, this is probably my favourite shot.
This is straight from the camera, plus I don't really know what to do with it pp wise.

Pukka it still works but I am already beginning to get a "jee he is holding something again" feel, I am not sure about the hippsterific feeling I get from your pictures though.
Yeah.
Also, I'd say concentrate more on composition than subject for the meanwhile.
It's actually a still from a video I'm currently working on, but I like it

It's a smooth, kind of washed-out image. I think you could up the contrast a bit but it's fine anyhow.
if you can get rid of that weird-ass milk-covered (like a weird white layer above the whole image like there's a ton of dust in the air) look then it would look a lot better

the top one is a crop from the others i posted from the other page i just cropped it in because it looked nice,
the holding things was because of the college project im doing and needing them to have a running theme which went into the person holding things and having the top line of the wall showing.
but also i had to do something that related it back to people in general so i went with being homeless, we went to an abandoned house and there were a ton of clothes there that my brother wore for the photo's and the lightbulb was sorta meant to convey the thought of an idea, but i guess that didn't come across haha, anyway wall of text over. Sorry if this explanation isn't very good i'm not the best with writing really
