Took one of my friend smoking an E-cig, used on flash directly below his face with a bounce card. Pretty much all SOOC except for a slight crop and level adjustment. I'd get rid of the bokeh dots, they are a bit distracting
any tips in terms of color for this photo? i've been trying a lot recently with a series of random photos with different lighting conditions, and working on the colors within each photo. this one has been a bit tricky for me, seeing how it's a lot darker on one side of the picture, and lighter on the other side. i feel the reds/greens are a bit off, but i don't have a great amount of control over that.
What tools are you using mostly for color?
What tools are you using mostly for color?
working with the color tools in lightroom. y'know, saturation, luminance, hue, etc. i also have photoshop, but i work with lightroom because it's a lot damn easier.
more cyan/magenta, bring up whites a tad, lower the contrast, and maybe lower the red/yellow channel just a tiny bit.
alright, lemme try that. thanks, mang.

I'd like to remind you people of the danger of slipping into the photographers equivalent of posting your lunch on instagram. Cheers
I'd like to remind you people of the danger of slipping into the photographers equivalent of posting your lunch on instagram. Cheers
What are you referring to?
I won't answer that, I'm not stupid and I don't want to be mean and I don't want that discussion, we had this, I just want people to keep this in mind.
Then don't post it if you're not looking for trouble. Christ Killuah you always start shit then back out by the end of your argument - stand firm or don't say anything.
I won't answer that, I'm not stupid and I don't want to be mean and I don't want that discussion, we had this, I just want people to keep this in mind.
What Salmon said, and if you're talking about self portraits, I think it affords an easy way to get comfortable with shooting the human figure when, and wherever one wants before they've developed any skills.
went digging through some 'older' shots, and found this. made it black and white before, then realized how stupid that move was.
I don't want to disqualify learning from an argument for the sake of integrity, additionally there is a point in a discussion where noone is open to the other side anymore and everyone else is just annoyed, again: integrity-fuck it, and I don't really see that as "backing out". It always takes two to start a discussion so your post is not much better in regard of "starting shit", as proven by itself. Your(and my) other option would've been disregarding the post and let people who think about it think about it and people who don't feel concerned ignore it but instead we have this now. [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Have some Oregon coastline from 2010: 470 von Terranigmus auf Flickr [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] And a submarine: 579 von Terranigmus auf Flickr
:words: I read that three times and still can't discern what you're trying to say
He says inflammatory things, then when people respond to him about it, he feels victimized and essentially says everyone else is being unreasonable or reactionary. Evidenced here:
[You could have gone on] disregarding the post and let people who think about it think about it and people who don't feel concerned ignore it but instead we have this now.
That's like if I went around sticking notes to people saying, "Certain things you may or may not be doing are wrong" then getting upset when they ask what it meant and defend myself by saying the people it's relevant to should understand it and not question it. We've always been open to discussing your (and anyone else's) opinions Killuah, it's you who won't let it be multi-sided. In the past you've taken our opinions/responses as personal attacks and turned it into an argument like right now.
It's not meant as criticism to a particular picture and that's the problem here: people feel concerned and somehow become upset because of the insecurity of "wait did he mean me?" BUT THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING FOR! Who am I to tell you what to post and what not to post? That's up to you! So when I dislike some particular picture I can give CC. But when I dislike a certain .. invariance(right word?) in a posters work or a trend that feels like people aim to replicate a certain style/pictures and lose the fun(and possibilities) of novelty in that process, how am I supposed to tackle something as complex as that? I can only give a hint to think about. And since I've gotten shit for posting "hey bopie enough with posting countless pictures of you staring into the wild your PP is sweet though"(this is an example - and I'm glad you stopped, by the way) that is the only valid way to express that feeling without getting too personal. I just feel like people start to act like Instagram filters.
[editline]10th February 2013[/editline] I like this, the people feel a little too close to the left edge, but any other framing in the format you were shooting would have taken too much off the right anway.
It wasn't really a shot I thought about at that time but I like that the coastline is more of a subject than the people. The PP is horrible though.
Thanks I shall do that, at least the one over his head anyways.
That was the one I was mostly referring to, there's a little one to the upper right but its not as bad. I like the image though, the flash mass it look really interesting
