Last time I was at Disneyland I noticed just how ridiculous the gear is that people bring to that place

A fun thing to think about is that tourists or whatever with huge cameras don't come from some tourist factory - these are normal people with their own lives and stories and the ones you see with crazy gear might just be people like you and me. Like if I go somewhere say like Santa Monica with my family I probably look absolutely ridiculous with my gear ( the times I have it on me, don't always go out of my way to bring it along), but its not like I went out to get that stuff just to go to a tourist place (like disneyland), it's just the stuff I already have access to because of what I'm doing in my own life. You'll see this anywhere the entire general population gathers/vacations/visits/etc.

That said, I guess there are 'professional tourists' that do buy DSLR's and such just for vacation snaps etc.

I've met quite a few people on facepunch now, both here and in the UK.
All have been nice people. Some very different to me, in lifestyle etc.

But I've never walked away disliking someone.

meeting facepunchers is great fun, you're all pretty similar people, you just chill out and have a laugh together.

also lets you make long lasting friendships (bengley being a clear example, so many little road trips haha, cheers man)

Salmon that shot is beautiful!

Here's a bit of a dump from mostly from today and yesterday. Sometimes I find it hard to tell if I've gone overboard on the pp until weeks later when relook at a photo and end up ashamed of myself.

I have been trying to think about capturing interesting light and texture more, and trying not be to be afraid of high ISO (jetty one was ISO 3200, I haven't really trusted anything above 800 before but it turned out pretty great). Also tried out different metering modes today, I've had it stuck on matrix metering forever.
