[t]http://puu.sh/27cm0[/t] People on Facebook seemed to think it was my best work, I'm not so sure I agree. I guess it's okay, but I could've benefited from a wider lens I guess.
Naw a wider lens would make the dark areas above and below bigger and I think part of it's charme is the balance between light and dark despite being at night, your other option would be a panorama but then you'd cross the 90° angle of the line eye<->rivers edge and that would create a weird perspective effect. It's fine like this. If anything, a position more close to the bridge could've been better since it would show more bridge but then the rivers edge wouldn't go vertical but more horizontal and that would "earth" the angles for the viewer and robb the picture of the interesting angles. [editline]24th February 2013[/editline] I think the ideal position would be a few steps back and a few feet up and a more narrow lens to bring the bridge closer to the white rivers edge and the post to the right into the picture but that's just educated guessing aka I'm talking out of my ass.

Went to the beach for a week, had some awesome rock pools there. Made me laugh. However, I always suggest with street photography not using a zoom lens. They have the potential to feel voyeuristic, and it's too easy to isolate the subject from their environment - which is rarely a good thing in street photography. [editline]24th February 2013[/editline] Some more from my instagram. I couldn't stop myself from shooting on an iphone 3 (which all of these photos were taken on). But, am borrowing my cousin's 4S (I think it's a 4S...) for the time being. Am looking forwards to using its better camera again.
some of these photos are just... eh
And do you have any.. uh.. interesting and useful feedback for them?
Okay, well the first one is not contrasty enough, there's no way i can really explain why i dislike it other than that. second one is alright, third one is unnecessarily black and white + over exposed in the window removing balance in the image. The fourth one is fine, fith is just generally uninteresting. I quite like the sixth. You might want to de-saturate the red crate on the seventh, it is unclear what the subject is. To me the crate, with possibly the "look right" if the crate wasn't so vivid. As for the eigth, i have no strong opinion one way or the other. However all in all you're using instagram photos taken from a iphone and i don't know what to say about that.
Thanks, for the feedback, man! Although, I've been using a nifty fifty.
If you're using it on a crop sensor it's more like 70-80 something and I can testify having used plenty of 50 1.8 and 1.4 that it starts pushing telephoto just a bit. Edit: Please never say "nifty fifty" unless wearing ironic glasses with no lenses skinny corduroy pants a beret and an ugly sweater holding a name brand coffee and a macbook pro. Never. Also I agree with pinecleandog just a bit but pickwickian posted so many awesome shots I didn't really notice the ones that weren't quite as exciting.
Pick is the king of instagram in my opinion, some solid shots in that dump tbh mate
I cant access my old Flickr account for some reason, so I had to make a new one. First one is just kinda bring and watermarked. Avoid mirror shots unless your lighting is amazing or you've managed to make it unique in some other way. Obviously if it's just for fun have at it. Second one, skin tone is pretty ghastly, with the weird off-yellow and blue, and just overall not an appealing look as far as I'm concerned. Oversaturated/contrasted I think.
the framing on both is very limiting and he's right about the color on the second i disagree about the first subject being boring, it can be good if it's well executed

I bought the D5100 a year ago but didn't have a car at the time to really go out and explore so I had no real motivation, now that I can pretty much go anywhere I'm taking my camera with me even on the shortest of journeys just in case I spot something interesting.

[t]http://puu.sh/281Bm[/t] how fix? I have no idea what lightroom did, or how to change it back to what CS6 is doing. It's driving me insane and I want to punch the shit out of my monitors. (I'm pretty sure it's using my monitor's color profile).
Try sRGB
It is on sRGB
