You're joking, no way.
look at them side by side, it's more fun that way. the content aware looks pretty good on it, i had to crop out the foreground because the color balance i did completely messed it up. the photoshop looks more like what i actually saw.
i have lightroom but it looks really fucking complicated

plus it moves slower than photoshop for some reason
It looks very intimidating but it's actually very easy to use!
Lightroom is so easy to use omfg
get on that right now

This was originally wayyyy over exposed which had kind of a weird effect on the colors in the sky. I kinda like it.

Oh man, I just realized the top right corner needs to be cropped out from correcting distortion...

Ah I see. Content aware does work miracles, but I only like using it to level out panoramas and get rid of lens dirt. I try to use it as little as I can.
[editline]21st February 2012[/editline]
When i correct distortion, the image seems to lose it's crispness and things kinda look fatter than they should.
?
I'm really torn on editing photos. If I do it, I'm making sure to stay as close to my original photo as possible, making small, subtle changes. All I really do is change the levels a little and I make sure to keep it at that. Y/N?
To be honest, when you take a photo with a camera it already stops being a true representation of the original scene. The recorded colours will depend either on the film you're using and how it responds to light or on what the camera's software does with the sensor data.
Especially when it comes to digital, nobody says that the tones in your photo have to be the ones that the camera (and thus the camera's manufacturer) assigned, the presets are there just for the convenience of trying out different things quickly without having to spend a while learning how to use another tool (e.g. the canon picture style editor, which is horrific). Sometimes the result will be close to what you want, sometimes it won't.

When you do distortion correction, the software is gonna apply some sort of matrix transform and some of the data in the new image will be interpolated. That's where the blurriness comes from.

I think I'll just stick to distorted images, buildings going up at a weird angle sort of give them a sense of height, or is it just me?

See if I try and correct that, I lose all definition in the brickwork.
There's probably some loss of detail if you view it at full size but for the picture I posted I thought it was more important that all the lines be straight.
Yeah it all depends on the photo i guess.

I like the one of the dude.
If you put a light behind or to the side of the bottle and warmed the image up a bit, it would look a lot better. I like the picture though, it's really crisp!
So we went into the toxic weapon factory today, and it has been an unlucky trip. We ran into a bunch of homeless psychopaths who tried to shoo us away, accidentaly collapse an entire room's floor and eventually got arrested due to civilians calling emergency due to the noise. I ended up doing video 99% of the time because I thought I was going to get something interesting and spooky out of this, but as soon as shit hit the fan I stopped recording and slinged the camera over the shoulder to run. Kinda shamed of myself, it was an experience and if I had footage of all these events it would be fucking amazing...
Worth to post photos :

We were wearing disposable gas masks to avoid the toxic rooms around the place.

I'd get a full respirator if you want to keep doing stuff like this. Disposable masks usually run out of filtration quite quickly.

A photo taken to fill for my A level class, I was supposed to head down to an airsoft site but it got closed off last week due to ice and snow, so had to get two mates to pose for me ;v
I'll be heading out a lot more and doing some self portraits now I found some decent wood and locations, no excuse for no interesting subjects, I might not be interesting but at least I can fill in the space and try some stuff out.

Whoa hey loving this!
Been wanting to do more people shots.
well done for getting the courage to do candid mate. did he react?
All he did was really look at me and didn't say anything. It's funny because I kept turning back and forth making me spin around like an idiot contemplating on choosing whether or not to take a photo.

My god. I haven't posted here in a while. So, I present to you my latest photography experiment. I put my camera on Bulb, put the flash on, and did some funky shit with my alarm clock. It's kinda juvenile, but I think I got some good results.

What do you think?
Interesting idea, but it could be executed better.
Im thinking something similar to the last shot, with the flash moved off camera and the camera on a tripod for the exposure of the time.
I sort of want to do it now.
