This.
I remember my film-teacher telling me to never be afraid of getting too close to the subject.
While lighting and background is more interesting in some of the others, this is still the best of the set imo.

This photo is amazing, It's almost un-comforting to look at, her eyes are so striking, I get that feeling when you look into someones eyes when I look at this.

Love the lighting!
Why does everyone here but me live in paradise?
Everything here is colorless, barren and dead.
It's really clear today though, might go and get some star photos woop woop.

Yeah but you live on an island. Islands are moody as hell man, lighthouses, fog, eerie beaches and so on.
Then again, I guess we both have become so used and bored with our own environments that we don't see what other people see.
Lighthouses, fog, eerie beaches and so on.
I don't know about you but thats really not a bad thing for me, so much atmosphere in them all. I'd have a field day.

you have to find interesting ways to take pictures of where you live. i mean i live in a desert, which can look like this

or like this if you catch it at the right time

you just have to find interesting lighting situations and work with them, and no place will ever be that colorless or dead.
Sunset and dawn is the key to always having an interesting environment

I might have used the wrong words in my reply.
What I was trying to say is exactly what you're saying. How island "subjects" are almost always really good subjects.

You live in Finland, right?
Snowy forests are awesome, get a tripod and put yourself in front of the camera as a subject or something.
Also, there is going to be a "moonset" at 04:48 AM here, and I'm wondering if I should take the opportunity and get some photos.
Should I?

I am sooo bad a people photos, but hey, I might just as well start one day. There is a fuckton of nature and forests around here. However, most of them are nearly unreachable during winter, since the snow gets about 40-60cm thick.

I wouldn't say your location is boring though.
You got some really exceptional shots of the Aurora Borealis, something many go their whole lives without seeing, I'm very jelly.
If only I had a picture of me and an Aurora.
Oh wait I do.

The coolest thing I ever saw was walking a girl home at 4-5 in the morning, there was really cool-ass mist everywhere, especially above the water. It was the coolest thing id ever seen and it was so atmospheric.
I would pay my whole bank balance to go back to that moment and freeze it so i could take like 1000 photos.
I was tired and a bit drunk so it would of been silly taking the camera anyway. This place has its good moments, like, really good. IT rains too much though, it gets depressing.

Also, im not old enough to drive, and even if i was, i couldn't afford insurance. My mum is too scared of motorbikes. So basically im stuck in what you can see in my night picture
