Thoughts guys? :)
Looks great; I'd straighten out the frame first though. Good idea though.
thanks mate!
it was actually a quick 10 minute job just to try the technique, its two photos with my friend holding a piece of paper up over her face to do cut out from.. going to try and create a better, more complex piece in the next few days :)
Could be pieces of hair then, but in the bottom left corner of the last image you posted there's a scratch. Not a biggie, just makes the picture look older than it is.
Some hair probably got onto the scanner or something. Maybe I'll clean the scanner later. :P
But thanks for pointing that out though, I didn't notice a few of the scratches/dust/hair at first :)

Can I have sex with your hair please
It's been two months apparently. Got a 50 1.4 recently, performs noticeably better than the 1.8, not to mention the better build quality and usability.
Anyways I made this for a photography assignment, pardon the sloppy painting, the cheap brush I found was way too soft for the job.

Last shot is great, but the first two feel a bit dull, and in the first she looks really unenthusiastic with the arm just dangling there.

could you elaborate a bit? I don't really agree, but I might if you explained your point a bit better. :)

Well, I mean the quality is great, but her poses and facial expressions just feel so lifeless in the first two shots. Like in the first shot, she could've had her free hand in her pocket instead of just lifelessly hanging, because it'd look a bit more lifelike. And maybe toss a smile in there. Frankly she looks a bit bored.

okay I understand what you mean now, but i still don't really agree. I felt that the vibe for the whole shoot was kinda the while stereotypical I'm-a-model-so-I'm-too-good-for-this. I can see your point has merit if you're evaluating each shot individually, but I think as a set they convey the overall atmosphere. With that in mind, I think that 'lightening the mood a bit' is more of an alternative, not a definite improvement.
regardless of all that, I'll see what I can do to incorporate that next time I go out to take photos!

Well yeah, when you put the photos as a set and evaluate them as a whole you've got a point, but then it'd make more sense to either mention that than to have it implied, or neatly arrange them into one picture as a sort of banderoll, if you know what I mean.

I think putting them in one post is enough to imply that they're a set.
I'm sorry but I totally disagree with derp y mail. The middle one I feel is the strongest of the three and the model with attitude approach came across really well for me. I don't feel like there's anything lacking emotional wise. Great job buddy

Got a couple of shots with my friend, as I thought her eyes would make for a good photo!

okay I know we've already been through this, but how can you guys say the 'film look' isn't amazing?! this shot isn't anything special at all, but the film look makes it pretty nice:

Looks bad tbh.
[editline]8th March 2012[/editline]
I mean the original isn't better, but the "film look" doesn't look very good and salvage the image.
Greatly decreased contrast and less green = film?
It's a boring picture, now washed out and boring.
Sorry!
"Film look" is a very very broad term and hard to pull off right. If you're shooting digital, you may as well use the neutrality and easy editing to your advantage.
i much prefer the first!
