I miss doing photography but now that I work 8 hours a day and commute 2 hours a day (if the traffic is good) I've lost all my energy to do any of my hobbies at all. Now it is brightening up I do feel more perked up. With my newer camera I'd like to do a 365 but am not sure I'd last for it. There really isn't enough interesting things when you drive to work and get home late.
Anyone got any tips on achieving a 365 under my circumstances? I am considering starting to go out once a week even if just down to the park but that is still once a week and not daily.
this should never be your perspective in photography. if you arent proud of your pictures you shouldnt upload them. that's my 2 cents anyways

im referring to the quality/composition of his pictures. your subjects can be just about anything, but thought needs to be put into the formulation of the pictures.
not to mention this thread is for creative photography, not point and shoot (wrong term? cant remember) photography.
Thing is, a lot of the shots I take are taken on the fly; my mind goes into photography mode so it does all the calculating of composition, which is basically how I want to capture whatever it is i'm capturing in a really, really quick process, I see something that I want to capture, I look down my view-finder, I get it lined up how I want, take a shot or two without spending fucking forever standing there like a fool. some of my best shot's i've taken on the fly as a "quick happy snap" so to speak, but it's still not the same as what you're trying to get at I think; I use manual exposure and focus and set my photos up the way I see fit, it's just I do it quickly and don't often put a super huge deal of (conscious anyway) thought into composition... but I think the reason for that is because my original idea of photography was that it's a means to capture moments, since then i've really, really broadened my horizons about photography
once again, it's that most of the time when i'm photographing i'm in the documenting moments mind set, and it seems to work for a lot of the shots I take...
these two were taken very on the fly, as in I only looked down the lens for less than 2 seconds before taking the photo

Not to speak highly of my own work, I think most of my photos are shit, but I like these two particularly. You can't say that just because it's point and shoot in method means it isn't creative, it comes down to what you capture and how well you can process a scene on the fly. Some people can't do it for shit, i'll give you that much, but that's not a fault of method.. just lack of knowledge in camera usage me thinks (people that use auto focus and auto-flash at parties and shit, still documents the scene but eh...)
at the same time, I also have more planned/set up work like this

but even then, I didn't take in a huge amount of consideration into these ones either, just thought it'd look cool if I got a shot like this, so went for it. Didn't think "oh I want that to be there, this has to be over here, those lines need to point in that general direction" or something, my mind just does all that and tries to capture what looks "good" according to my own opinion, so to speak...
sorry to repost a bunch of old shit, just making a point

Thats implying point-and-shoot can't be creative.

Get someone to stand very still whilst you move your tripod a tiny bit and reposition / focus on the subject.

I love this so much.
So this is the first panorama I've ever made and I'm quite proud of it (that broken twig looked like that back then, I assure you. And apparently I was dumb enough to focus the water near me instead of the trees and the building and stuff because I hit the d-pad with my nose/finger)
I'd have made it like five pictures wide or so but two of them didn't overlap at all, i'm looking forward to making larger, better, more interesting ones.

C&C?
The book is sort of distracting, it's like it's in a weird middle between focused and blurred out.
Also the quality is terrible, where is that picture hosted?
It was just a quick setup really, didnt notice my mums hair dye sat on the table.. my bad :(
I forgot to mention it's a brenizer too, I've been really interested in the way the images turn out but I currently don't have photoshop so I downloaded an stitching program called AutoStitch and i think that is what is compressing it so much. Its hosted on Flickr.

I was going to say the blue is a bit overdone but then I realized that that was just my expectation of how a picture on a screen should look, not me looking at your picture, so I'll rather say:
Thanks for showing me your picture!
