How do you get the lighting so perfect? I'm only a beginner and I think I've gotten an okay eye for pictures, I just have trouble getting my photos to look how I want.
Since its all natural lighting, i just work around the light at the time. Ever since I've been taking photos i kind of see the world in light now. Gaps in shadows and small spots of sunlight. The flicker of fire and gaps of light by doors only ajar.

It's kinda surreal, it looks like he was photoshopped onto the picture somehow. I love it.

Came out pretty sharp considering it was just in front of a grey wall in ym living room with some not-so-good natural light.
The T2i really works well in low light compared to my old XT. It has won my heart.
First time in my college's studio mainly trying to get lighting right really.
Love the lighting and shadows in the second one!
First one is good too, but I prefer the second.
More urban exploring.

I like the sky and the reflections, very dramatic.
Also the blown out bit in the right top corner of the second one is cool!
Shame for all the cars, personally I find them a bit distracting, but that's not really something you can control. :D
The second one though is much better imho since you cut more on the left so you don't see any car (that's close at least) in full.
yeah that's what I thought about the first one, what gets me about the second is the fucking lens flare
suppose I still coulda done some work to manually edit it out but it'd have been really noticable

Lightroom maaaaaaan.
i've got it man, wasn't much I could do with simple functions, would have to use the brush shit to get rid of it and my experience with that so far has been sub-par
I might give it a go later on though, no harm in trying again
Long time since I posted anything, but now that I got my D3100 I've started taking a shit ton of photos, some good, some terrible.
There's a contest going on around here, the theme of it being "Time". Basically, show the passing of time through a single shot. I tried several things, like taking photos of old buildings/decaying things, long exposures, but thought they were too generic. Then I found a dusty cobwebed room with a shelf inside and a bunch of empty jars on it; in the end I started moving the web around and placing photos under the jars, which should resemble memories, as well as a fading candle.

Any opinions?
The idea and composition are spot on, but the white light doesn't seem right. You could do some post processing and getting it to look a little warmer, but what I would do, If I could, would be to go back at either sunset or sunrise (sunset would seem more appropriate with the theme) and capture some more Dramatic lighting.
Hope that helps :)
Didn't get this one. Any describe for stupid?
Agreed with Wickerman123 about the light.
Oh, I see, sorry -_-
Good cause, radu.
So I went to Switzerland last week and brought my 60D with me :D

I feel like the snow and sky are too similar in this one. When you do the B&W conversion, try making the blues a bit darker, everything kinda blends together right now.

i really like the photo, i hope you don't mind but i edited it to be a bit more dramatic. it reminded me of silent hill and dear esther so i kind of went for the dramatic red/blue look for it, since the image was kind of green tinged and the red should be the highlight

Owls are awesome. Held a Snowy Owl on my arm once. It was cool. Wish I could get pictures of Owls. I think I get them in some places here, but they're rare.
