Saw this little guy while on a hike. He never took notice to me being there which was surprising since I was right in his face.

I haven't stopped in for a while, been very busy. But when my dad rolled up with a new car out of the blue right in the middle of the golden hour there's no way I could continue with my day until I'd commemorated it. And yes I think it's a bit overdone it a bit but I really didn't edit it all that much.

got some very nice colors in there, i think the editing is awesome
I have a Sanyo CG10 handcam for lightweight usage but I've got this horrible awful fucking problem.
The display remains extremely zoomed in, and it does when I take video with it as well, even when I decrease the zoom all the way. However, when I take pictures it takes them as if it were not zoomed in. I've looked through all the settings but cant find jack shit. Anyone got a solution?
Went for a walk last week.
Came across this place:

New camera? Sounds borked as fuck.
[QUOTE=Trogdon;35625014]i really like the photo, i hope you don't mind but i edited it to be a bit more dramatic. it reminded me of silent hill and dear esther so i kind of went for the dramatic red/blue look for it, since the image was kind of green tinged and the red should be the highlight

As I see this one, it actually needs to have some more attention aiming at the main objects. I would make it without colour (object photos are so) and with much more light on photos.
some like this:

Making something black and white doesn't make it magically good. I find making this image B&W detracts it's appeal, you lose the glowing from the flam in your edit. Why don't we just wait and see what he comes back with.

I wasn't saying that. This is just on of the methods could be used here to make the photo closer to it's main aim. Attention got dissipated in color just because photos are not expressive enough to get the attention by themself. So you look at the window, at the fire, at the blue bank... and then you see the photos.

I went back to that room yesterday, near sunset time, but the light wasn't as expected; although I think it's a major improvement from the first one. The light coming from the window has a blue tint now, opposed to the plain white and the candle light is more noticable now. Unfortunately, the coweb is less obvious. As for the main subject, the photos under the jars, it's not important to "clearly" see the photos, but to notice both the jar and photos as a whole.

that first one is amazingly beautiful. where is it?
So, I've been thinking about entering a photo contest at my school and monday is the last day to send in my photo. The problem is that I've got four shots that i just can't decide between, and you are only allowed to send in one photo, so i thought i might ask you guys!
I know these aren't super, but i still think i've got a chance to win this! :)

Thanks! That is Red Rock Canyon, about 15 minutes out of Las Vegas
No offense NisseN, but photo 3 is in a completely different league of quality compared to the others.
Photo 3 is fucking amazing mate, go with that one.

aaahhh the home of the great khans!
Also, that third shot has been my desktop for a while now, it's stunning.

That's miles better! The fire looks so much better and the reflections in the jars are gorgeous. love the whole idea!
The blue tint is a little annoying, could be fixed in lightroom or photoshop, natural light is better but you can never rely on mother nature.
Massive improvement. Brilliant! :)
If the topic is "passing of time", going from a warm red light to a cold fluorecent lamp-like blue one is a great concept imo
landscapes? I have no idea what the fuck i'm doing

shit those are nice, I rated you friendly but just thought i'd say I really dig both those
Dayum Inzalonus that first one looks so outerworldly. The whole atmosphere, amazing. Lacks any real subject but those blue shadows in the trees. Loving the yellow + blue combo there and in the second one. The godrays feels abit heavily pped. I can see you're trying to emphasize the rays, but idk I think the contrast is pushed up too high. Feels plasticky.
@Dvorak 2nd image is so nice. Love the tones of the black and subject.
yeah, I know what you mean about the godrays.. Thanks for actual criticism though!

Really like this one but what did it look like originally? I think it may look better if it was orange and grey/blue sort of like the two previous ones. Either way that is an awesome shot.

Moved our foreign exchange kid over to his new host family today. Was pretty sad but he doesn't go back to Japan until July so I'll still get to see him around.
