You should make a shoulder mount or do that "hanging tripod" trick or something to smoothen the movement if you do that kinda thing often.

Hm. Interesting.
Question that you've probably been asked a bajillion times; if you shoot with a 5D, why add fake artifacts?
why add fake artifacts?
Scratches and dust distract the viewer away (hopefully subtly) from the mindset of being immersed in something in-tangible, and adding a sort of tangibility to it. Breaking the fourth wall, so to speak. Reflections and multiple exposures do this for me immensely.
you're right, it helps to add to the believability of photos and ability for the viewer to connect with them even if they're heavily processed and all that
might have to steal that idea and use it myself
[editline]29th April 2012[/editline]
have to say though bopie, you make me wish there was a forest area near to my house. All your photos remind me of when my family would go picking mushrooms (not the hallucinogenic kind) during wet seasons, it's that time of year again... might go again to dwell in the nostalgia
What's your technique for adding them? Just some random brush dabs here and there?
Went to Dulles airport today to see the Air and Space Museum (Better than the one in DC in my opinion)
The space shuttle discovery had just been moved there a day or two before. It was so crowded, this was the best I could do

:O WOW.
Oh Inzalonus, what kind of area do you live in?
a world of constant, beautiful golden hour
the most boring, flat and hostile place in the world
perth, western australia
I'd rather be there than Brisbane for photography tbh.
consider yourself lucky guys, I live in northern england.. nothing but rain this time of year, can't even take my camera out!

I'd rather go to brisbane because it'd be new, photos are easiest to take in an area you havn't been before imo

do it anyway, just get one of those waterpruth case thingamabobs. i've been waiting for rain for ages because rain always brings about great atmospheric conditions for photos, it's been raining most of today, but stopped when I went out.
I'm considering going outside tonight with my cheapo flash + wireless triggers and trying some self portraits in the inevitable rain storm

might do, but as of now i have no coin to spend :( spent all my wages of festival tickets, camera bag, tripod, and a provisional driving license.. and by the time i get my next paycheck it will be the end of all the rain haha

also, it might bring out nice atmosphere down there in oz but up here its just dull and grey

that sunset was brought about as the after effects of some decent rain... lots of water evaporating and shit while the sun goes down creates a fairly heavy haze, not as heavy as fog though

i've considered trying to get light streaks down an image by having a wide and bright light shining while rain is falling, long-ish exposure etc(long enough to capture streaks of light, but not too long that you don't see anything of the rain). then do it as a double exposure with a flash image of a person standing in the rain, might look nice

It's been a while, but here's some (pretty poor) content. Fucked up most of my pictures and my panorama didn't work.

Got some from when I went to the Salton sea last year, went during the time of year when the dead fish were all along the shore.

I was sort of shy to post anything here since A) I don't own a DSLR B) I'm just shy.. But I've seen you guys look friendly and I really want to learn stuff so criticism is appreciated. The first 3 pictures were taken with a D70s my cousin brought last weekend. The last one was taken with a point & shoot.

I know the ones shot through the glass are super ~artsy and creative~ but I was just really excited to have a DSLR in my hand and wanted to try stuff out. Anyway, I'd really like some cc.
