Got bottom of the page, you don't mind if I repost do you?
Also I'm digging the photos dude, but whenever I see a watermark, no matter how intrusive, it bothers me a bit.
hey now, photos of disgusting things have a place in this world too, everything that can be captured should be captured for the sake of it; don't say "shouldn't take a photo of that" because who knows, it could just end up being one of your best photos, and in the subject matter, just because no one else wants to take a photo of it doesn't mean you shouldn't because that is what makes it unique.
what's with all the hate on it anyway? it got a reaction out of you, and therefor works to some extent, more appropriate criticism would be on the composition, not the subject matter.
edit: if you think spitting is so disgusting that you want to put someone down for trying to capture it then don't bother with photo journalism, there's much more disgusting things to be captured in war torn countries that should be shared so that people get an insight into the reality of war
No we need more pictures of girls in the woods and bopie staring into bushes instead of people spitting and subjects we normally don't see in a moments capture, I am not here to see NEW stuff and ideas, this is the internet after all.
To the guy above: I am bothering with myself too about the watermark :D

How does getting a photo of your friend spitting even resemble photojournalism. It's like saying "hey if you dont like this photo of my dog taking a shit then I'd hate to see you look at the photos of a war torn Iraq!" It's leaping so far. Jesus.
If he was spitting on a president it might be a good snap. And then it would be photojournalism. Mind blown how war torn countries even got into the conversation to be honest.
I totally missed this spitting picture...
How does getting a photo of your friend spitting even resemble photojournalism. It's like saying "hey if you dont like this photo of my dog taking a shit then I'd hate to see you look at the photos of a war torn Iraq!"

People are not raging about that the act of spitting is trivial but rather how it's "disgusting" and "does not belong" here.
It sounds like a 70 year old screaming "get off my lawn with your skateboards you little punks"
It brought out the people who like to look at the 1000th picture of woods and then start to rage about ONE photo of some spit.
What he is saying is that pictures of disguting things are not wrong and have a big right to be shown here too, the war journalism is an example that you didn't seem to understand.
Judging from your post you understood it as if he wanted to say photos of spit are journalism.
The artists who painted trivial yet disgusting things have big art expositions nowadays. In Berlin there is an artists displayig a picture of a masturbating kid called "The great evening hits the bucket"
You might criticize motivation, photographic technique, statement or maybe say "your of spit is just too trivial"(like you kinda did) but the people who say "spitting should not be pictured at all", hell I don't even understand why they are looking in here.

you guys are acting like not only did we lead him to slaughter but because of the best damn photo of all time. sorry, it just looks like a dero spitting to me. not even a shock factor just a what-was-this-guy-thinking-posting-this factor.
last post about the damn photo, just saying that everyone needs to put down their little shields about it. it deserves the criticism it got.
[editline]8th February 2012[/editline]
Nonikai - is the first photo you've just posted from a set that you took recently? I feel like I've seen something similar. I really liked those. Something about challenging yourself to only go so far away from your house? Maybe I am imagining this.. if so, ignore post :)
You've not done anything, i was just trying to steer you in a better direction regarding your photography. It's these people who I've never seen before who are trying to say that your photo has similar ties to a photo of a war torn poverty stricken country. Just let the whole thing blow over now.

There was an artist, i forget here name, but she exhibited herself in a set up room ,that was unbelievable messy, and proceeded to smear shit into the bed and roll in it.

Yup, this is from the same set. I usually go over my photos to see ones that I didn't like at first and some of them are usually pretty good. I just don't realize it right away!

Nope, I just upped the vibrance if I remember right, I also like to desaturate other colors to make the more prominent ones pop

Holy shit Killuah! This is the first time I have ever seen a picture of a frozen waterdrop. Thank you so much for liberating me of my photographic ignorance with brand new ideas! Now I can start my journey on the road to recovery. I mean seriously, who ever thought to just stick their lens up to an icy twig at minimum focusing distance? Brilliant.
Sorry, I'm too caught up in my own circlejerk to understand real art, could you possibly explain it so [del]people[/del] dumb hipster posers like me can understand your message? This could be the first step in getting me to stop taking the pictures I take, like some untrained chimp repeatedly throwing its feces at a monitor. If you can't though, I understand. You're a busy artist at work, and I just appreciate that you even took the time to acknowledge our forum.
Anyway, A+ work, have a medal!
Thanks a lot guys :)
I haven't shot much film, but what happened to picture 1? Is it a focus thing, or did someone manhandle your roll?
never mind his peruvian photos (which are hella good man! nice job!) what about my amazing spoon?! :D

I think you could maybe brighten up the waterdrop and add a bit of saturation to the blue maybe Killuah, it looks nice. The shadows and snow footsteps photo on your flickr is wonderful.
