They're trees. The camera has been violently tipped forward and backward to blur the trees vertically when taking the shot.
HOW IS THAT BIKE STANDING UP? /all caps scared
I'm playing with those extension tubes (which sadly have their release mechanisms broken and can't be used one at a time) and the 50mm and it's like I'm holding a goddamned microscope.

The Brenizer has worked really well. Not sure about the log on the right, however.
The path leading up to the background is really nice too, but the model and colours are sweet too.

I feel like no one bothers with cc on this forum
the way you you have the garage both in the dark and blurred out makes it seem like there's something to hide in there, but I suppose that also helps to bring attention to the subject rather than the entire shot, but the blur seems a bit un-natural and awkward, but I think that's just because of the way the blur isn't supporting the angle entirely (you can see where the focal point sort of seeps into the garage)
I dig the way you've set up the angle though, but i'd like to be able to see the top of the garage entrance frame to have a sense of closure, otherwise it's a comfortable and pleasing angle
Love the colour palette man, and I agree, beautiful as always

mate i commented on your flickr about this, i just have to say it here too. This is amazing, i have a certain soft spot for shots like these. The way that the light pours through the tunnel into darkness and the way your two subjects are so adventurously placed (I'm sure you caught a good moment rather then posing them). The only thing i could say i dont like would be the small green bottle on the right, but thats being nitpicky. One of my favourite shots from you ever dude.
yeah edwin you always go to the coolest places

I'll make a concerted effort to offer as much cc as I can once dissertation's in.
I think it also helps, then when people are after some constructive criticism, they only post a photo or two. Sometimes I go to offer advice, but decide halfway through that I don't have the energy to reply to a wall of images. I think it also helps if people point out what they think are the flaws in their own images (and what they like about it) - it gives anyone trying to offer advice a base on which to work on which can be expanded upon.

Thanks guys.
Blaze, I actually really like the bottle of beer there (for me anyway, it implies the good times we were having).
Oh, and it was fucking hard climbing up that 15ft vertical chalk cliff-face (the one that my mate Ben is jumping out of) to get into the cave. Managed it on my first go and had to be the helping hand to get everyone else up...
Only then did we realise that if you followed the coast around the next corner, there was a nice easy ramp which entered the cave from the other side.

I think thats a good idea, if people follow those conventions from now on then i think constructive criticism could be a more prominent part of this sub forum.
And i like it in that aspects, i thought it was a bottle of water though. I guess i was just thinking on terms of picture perfect (content aware-ing everything out till your photo is pristine). But then again, thats subjective. It's still an awesome photo mate.

Been captivated by this for about 5-10 minutes now, how many images is this stitched with? it has a very shallow dof. Reminds me of that mad one you did of your mums friends range rover that had insane dof but was only 9 images.
Accidental in camera effects.

Not to be harsh or anything but It's just a blurry and underexposed image?
I'd totally delete it too if it weren't that the traffic light were two colours.
I haven't touched my camera in weeks and this is the only thing I could muster up. I feel like it's lacking something, but I just couldn't get the atmosphere of the picture correct.
Who knows any good ways to kick-start motivation again? because at the moment, I've hit a creative block in terms of photography. Also, I would love to start posting more again!

That looks like nice grass to just sit in and gaze at stuff. All the grass here in Florida is dead and full of sand spurs.
I got my first medium format roll back.
After two weeks of waiting for the lab I got it today just to find out that did a crap job. (they did fine with 35mm)
They usually develop color 35mm in one day, it took them two weeks so the thing was a bit iffy like they were cought off guard and didn't know what to do and the results kinda back the theory.
They were full of scratches and dust (imprinted on the negatives not just dust over them) weird rainbow blobs (like oil paddles) and light leaks, yes light leaks in development, how do I know?
Well the light leaks went over the black borders that weren't exposed in camera.
So basically these are the less ruined ones (cleaned in Photoshop) from the bunch that I like, while I lost at least 3/4 other good ones over 15 total shots. /RANT
Oh well, enjoy the photos.

Mate, you really do have something special when it comes to realising some of these selfies (and shots of your bro, I often can't tell). People praise your stuff for good reason.
I really like that shot - nice pants by the way.
I can't really offer you any tailored advice with motivation - I can only tell you what works for me.
And that's just taking my camera with me almost everywhere I go. My photography is solely a product of my social life, and nothing else. It works for me, but maybe not for other people's styles.
