So someone stole my tripod, so here's the best I could get the other night without one.

I dig the last one a lot, what bike is that?
Using a 1000d that is shit past iso400 with a Sigma f1.4 at night is like giving a handicapped man a rocket powered wheelchair.
[editline]5th May 2012[/editline]
Also it's a Yamaha TZR, I'm preventing myself from naming it so I don't get upset when I sell it for a new bike in 4 months.

I told you already over steam, but I think the first one should've been focussed on the mountain - it would make the picture tell a clearer story.
@paul simon
Where did you take this photos?
In Nordland (Yeah it's actually called that) which is in Norway.
More specifically, Lofoten.
Even more specifically, Kabelvåg.

I like the first one, though it could have been composed a little more carefully(mind cutting things off, it takes away from the subject(unless you wanted to focus on the "thinking of you" line, in which case the subject could have been more defined)). I can't say I'm a huge fan of the others, simply because they don't give me much reason to be interested in them. They just seem... Awkward(only word I can come up with, sorry). The last picture could possibly be improved if you cropped that tree out on the right side, and maybe try something different with your subjects expression. If you truly find your subjects interesting, try to find a way to capture that feeling specifically focused on those subjects. Make them stand out against everything else(lighting, positioning, composition, focus, etc.), but be able to retain the location's beauty. I feel like I'm being kind of ambiguous with my advice, but only you can make your photos inspire emotion in people. Keep shooting though, you have some cool pictures in your photostream, I'd like to see more. I hope I helped you somehow.

A couple color/lighting experiments I took the other day

Neither picture was heavily edited, I really like the way they came out
I should probably stop taking so many abstract pictures though, don't want to overdo it

4 Photos I've picked, I went out last night taking long exposure photos of things quite far away, I decided not to edit any of them but I'm happy for anyone else to have a go at it (would be interesting to see what you get), really wanted to test out my new lense and seriously I'm amazed how far it can zoom (300mm), the first picture is of a building on top of a hill about 1km from the position the photo was taken.

What do you guys use for post-processing? For coloring in particular.
Alright, last post from this shoot.
As great as some of your recent stuff has been (it really is mate), I've especially missed your more 'homely' photos. I get more of a feel for your personality from these shots than anything you've posted in a long time.
The first one is fantastic. I think it's really clever what you've done.
And your dogs expression is amazing in the second. He/She looks like a champ - and the texture in the pine bush's leaves are really intriguing.
That last shot isn't doing much for me though.
Big Love Bopie.
Cheers mate!

Lightroom to handle the RAW's (exposure, color, etc.) and organization, Photoshop for everything else.
Could do everything in Lightroom with Photoshop, but it makes life 1000x easier.
I use GIMP because im skint and cant make photoshop cracks work (inb4 ban for warez, especially with jaanus about)
also, bopie the shots are awesome as usual and all the tumblr layout and hashtags made me chuckle
What do you guys use for post-processing? For coloring in particular.
Lightroom for the initial RAW editing. I'll usually fix up a few things in photoshop, and maybe play with the colour balance tool as well.
Best way is to just keep playing around. I'm still learning, only started using Lightroom the other day, damn is it useful.
See I open up lightroom, but have no idea what to do. All I ever end up doing is changing the brightness and contrast.
[editline]6th May 2012[/editline]
Also, you guys are saying you edit your RAWs in lightroom? Because Lightroom can't open my .cr2 files
Photoshop CS5 can't open my .nef files
