[QUOTE=booster;35886547] If you're interested in seeing one, and happen to live close to the north, this site will help you a lot. [url]http://helios.swpc.noaa.gov/ovation/[/url][/QUOTE] Closer to the south, Australia. I doubt I'll be seeing one any time soon. Better go travelling.

Friend of mine got [URL="http://puu.sh/tVNS"]this pose[/URL], pretty badass imo
i was just hitting the shutter button with my obviously (not so) amazing timing skills, but i'm pretty happy about the way the first shot turned out, wasn't expecting to see a shot so centered with my frame [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Been going through some older photos, still new content though [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170257392/][img]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5329/7170257392_409f8239dd_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170257392/]IMGP7037.jpg[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/inzalonus/]Inzalonus[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170297830/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7074/7170297830_3241c2315f_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170297830/]IMGP7256.jpg[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/inzalonus/]Inzalonus[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170320326/][img]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5330/7170320326_9183ebc244_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170320326/]IMGP7804.jpg[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/inzalonus/]Inzalonus[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170327448/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7227/7170327448_956b46cc42_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/inzalonus/7170327448/]IMGP7964.jpg[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/inzalonus/]Inzalonus[/url], on Flickr gotta upgrade my flickr account, apparently i've used 98% of my uploads for THIS month already

Much better than the last one, I reckon, Tombo.
I disagree, the pose is less interesting and the composition/crop of the first one gave it sort of a cramped feel that fit the pose really well
I absolutely see what you mean. I like the feel of 'space' in a picture, it's probably why I like this one more.
[QUOTE=latin_geek;35899917]I disagree, the pose is less interesting and the composition/crop of the first one gave it sort of a cramped feel that fit the pose really well[/QUOTE] Yeah I agree aswell to be honest those were the two best photo's out of that studio set just wanted peoples opinions really.

Don't get me wrong, both are great, but I love the first one as it feels like a "Basement Sessions" kinda thing.
I prefer the second one, my OCD tells me not to like people being cut in photographs. Also you can see better both the player and the instrument and it has a bit of margin all around which I like too.
[QUOTE=latin_geek;35900077]Don't get me wrong, both are great, but I love the first one as it feels like a "Basement Sessions" kinda thing.[/QUOTE] I like knowing peoples opinion's on my photo's good or bad so really I appreciate you even posting what you think. I think if I'd been able to get the first photo's pose with a full body shot it would of been alot better.

My parents own a furniture store and my father has a vested interest in antiques. Thank you.
Him: gotta try out different colour palettes and styles to show i'm not a one hit wonder :p

Did not expect that last one :v:
Alright, im all new to photographing, any tips? I have a pretty good camera (not a 3 grand pro one) and ive experimented a bit with macro and stuff.
You're not going to learn much from doing macros, I'll just say that. Try street photography and portraits, it's a good starting point. [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Hmm page king, here's some of my unposted photos then: [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7151892087/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7201/7151892087_1b1e3df781_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7151892087/]IMG_0891[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/isaacbrownbridge/]Isaac Brownbridge[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7151891839/][img]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5329/7151891839_f9b5a5feef_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7151891839/]IMG_0863[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/isaacbrownbridge/]Isaac Brownbridge[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7102187691/][img]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8154/7102187691_9e6cf53f9a_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/7102187691/]IMG_0339[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/isaacbrownbridge/]Isaac Brownbridge[/url], on Flickr [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/6956117190/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7118/6956117190_d07b0c27b6_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/isaacbrownbridge/6956117190/]IMG_0335[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/isaacbrownbridge/]Isaac Brownbridge[/url], on Flickr
Yeah, i was just learning how to use macro :p How do people do that Flickr thing? Easily upload a picture with by [dude] and the titel of the picture? [img]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8168/7172480688_31747c304b_b.jpg[/img] Also, i took a picture of my cat and forgot the blitz was on, so i blinded her and i thought it looked kinda funny XD [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] Yeah like that! How do you post them on the internet like that?
Here are two. One from ages ago (Taken during one my lectures): [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/edwinquast/7171842490/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7224/7171842490_6a4e67f314_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/edwinquast/7171842490/]Untitled[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/edwinquast/]edwin.quast[/url], on Flickr And one from today: [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/edwinquast/7172415692/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7216/7172415692_1528acf095_z.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/edwinquast/7172415692/]Untitled[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/edwinquast/]edwin.quast[/url], on Flickr
Share -> Grab the BB/HTML Code (BBCode in this case). Also funny cat pictures are good and all, but there's not much point posting them unless they have artistic aesthetics. That's just a funny photo of a cat.
I just figured it out! [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/ringadew/7172482144/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7212/7172482144_431fd96ea5_c.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/ringadew/7172482144/]SAM_0050[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/ringadew/]ringadew[/url], on Flickr [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] oh thanks by the way. Note: I havent had time to take any pictures yet. All pictures were taken on the day i got it. I just ran around the house for things [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] For how long have you guys been taking pictures? [editline]10th May 2012[/editline] And do you edit them afterwards?
I've been doing it for 1 1/2 years, but I haven't really progressed much in the past 1/2 year due to exams, and bullshit screwing with my life. I always edit my digital photos since I shoot in RAW, but not my film photos.
What did you use? I like the effect on the first picture.
[QUOTE=Zar;35903975]Alright, im all new to photographing, any tips? I have a pretty good camera (not a 3 grand pro one) and ive experimented a bit with macro and stuff.[/QUOTE] Macro is what most people start off on, Because they are the easiest pictures to take, and almost always look amazing. The best tip I can give you is experiment with lighting, Try to get allot of light on whatever you are taking a picture of, unless its supposed to look dark. If the lighting is bad, the photo will be bad. Simple as that
