Yeah it's a timing / setting your camera to burst and shooting in three or four picture bursts at a time, those are quite good tho!

Probably would benefit not having the guy in there, it's a pretty boring pose and the jacket has almost no texture to it, it's just this featureless black blob in the middle of the photo.

I disagree, the pose is less interesting and the composition/crop of the first one gave it sort of a cramped feel that fit the pose really well

I found this paperweight and decided to play around with some different lighting on it, This was my favourite.

Don't get me wrong, both are great, but I love the first one as it feels like a "Basement Sessions" kinda thing.

I prefer the second one, my OCD tells me not to like people being cut in photographs.

Also you can see better both the player and the instrument and it has a bit of margin all around which I like too.

I like knowing peoples opinion's on my photo's good or bad so really I appreciate you even posting what you think. I think if I'd been able to get the first photo's pose with a full body shot it would of been alot better.

Steak, leaves and carpet remnants always makes me think of France as well! :v: No, I presume it's from the style of the furniture you're seeing or something. My parents own a furniture store and my father has a vested interest in antiques.

You're not going to learn much from doing macros, I'll just say that. Try street photography and portraits, it's a good starting point.

I've been doing it for 1 1/2 years, but I haven't really progressed much in the past 1/2 year due to exams, and bullshit screwing with my life. I always edit my digital photos since I shoot in RAW, but not my film photos.

Macro is what most people start off on, Because they are the easiest pictures to take, and almost always look amazing. The best tip I can give you is experiment with lighting, Try to get allot of light on whatever you are taking a picture of, unless its supposed to look dark. If the lighting is bad, the photo will be bad. Simple as that
