Honestly, some razer products are pretty decent. A few years ago I bought a Lachesis mouse from them and it's great.
But it seems shortly after that time they decided to take all of their profit and invest it into the nastiest ad campaign that consists of serious pro gaming league gaming 4lyfe buy this overpriced plastic niche.
Like I wouldn't even mind these guys if they kept everything the same except they shutthefuckup with the trailers, don't make retarded tablet save consoles/and dont overhype dumb shit no one cares about.

thankfully they only slap on the tripletsnakes on their products and not the text
Don't get the point of mechanical keyboards. They're all overpriced, not just Razer

Show me a mechanical that you can clean and wash easily and maybe one day I will change my mind
The Razer Deathadder was probably my best purchase of last year, but honestly, I'm fairly certain it's just a fluke. I've had plenty of things from Razer that were awful.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot. Not basing that on the content of your post, but the reasoning behind it.

had a cheap Microsoft keyboard once. I filled my bath up with warm water and tossed it in. After a couple hours I took it out and let it dry for a couple days. Worked perfectly fine again

I'm an idiot because I prefer a cheap, easy to clean keyboard?
I don't see the value in "better feeling" keys. My keys feel fine. Keeping them clean is more important to me. Most, if not all mechanical keyboards are very difficult to clean, and with decent switches, are at least twice as expensive. If that makes me an idiot, then I'm sorry.

No, you're an idiot because you treat your opinion as objective fact and spew it on the rest of us, while belittling those of us who give a damn.

Hypothetically as long as there's no caps with a significant amount of charge and it's unplugged, getting electronics wet isn't too bad if it's dried off afterwards. The danger of water is that it'll short wires together and damage it - if there's no electricity running through it it's fine. Well, that and rust, but that's more of a slow thing.

It's my favorite keyboard, so I consider it the best. I didn't belittle anyone. The only one getting personal here is you. Why don't you just relax?

mechanical keyboards have easily removable keys. I actually clean it every week.
they're far easier to type on, as well, to a huge degree, even if it was much harder to clean it wouldn't be easy to like that keyboard compared to my mechanical one.
I actually have a cheap air compressor I use for my tires, I charge it once a week to every 2 weeks and blow my keyboard out. It's not by water, but it's extremely easy and spotless when I'm done. What I use is a yellow keyboard. It has a redish plate under the keys which makes it harder for stuff to get on, making my air blowing easily able to clean it. Because it has a removable cord (Unlike your keyboard, actually), although it's not exactly waterproof, however its very easy to take off, upside down and blow out, as well as having the ability to rub a cotton ball on it of alcohol.
The biggest thing you would want if you want clean is to avoid black, as it collects dust.
Another thing is PBT plastic, its better than ABS, used in membrane and cheaper mechanical keyboard. It shines at a much slower rate, so it doesn't feel greasy and give a very nice, clean feel to it. You'll feel less of a need to cleanfreak it I would imagine.
If being clean is a huge deal as well, I suggest using straws and eating away from a keyboard, as well as PBT plastic, as said.
as for spill resistance

the IBM Model M, an 80's keyboard seems to be considered the god of mechanical keyboards, and actually resists spills well it seems ( I don't know if they actually are, however). this is due to water channels.
in all honesty though you're really missing out. Mechanical keyboards feel far better than any membrane. I've had many keyboards, from dell keyboards, to godlike wireless ones, to gaming keyboards. You can't beat blue cherries for typing. For the money spent, it's very easily not overpriced, and I'm an unemployed who spent 150$ on a keyboard that's' totally colored yellow.
When it comes to cleaning you don't need to worry as much as you think you do, mine is very clean. I actually feel like being able to wash it is partly a bad gimmick unless you're REALLY prone to spills, and if that's the case... Show me on the doll where Rilez touched you.
Also no he didn't, he just likes it better.
I imagine it depends on the brand. It seems to me though that the majority of mechanical keyboards (including the one in the video) have complicated lighting/other wiring under the keys that would cause issues if they got spilled on.
I don't spill things too frequently. I bought this keyboard nearly two years ago, maybe spilled 2-3 drinks on it since then. It's just very convenient when it happens to cap the cord and toss it in the sink. It's even more useful though when you consider general usage... dust and things that normally get caught under the cap. It might not be difficult to remove the keys on a mechanical, but the keyboard I posted has completely sealed caps, which means you can just brush out the stuff that gets stuck over time. It's not a huge difference, but I feel like that adds up over time.
Moreover, it doesn't feel like you're typing on a membrane. I've used a lot of awful keyboards, specifically squishy laptop membranes that feel like you're typing on a sponge. The washable has very "clicky" keys that sound and feel very similar to a mechanical. I've never owned a mechanical over 100$, but I've used them before. Obviously it's not exactly the same, but I think it would surprise people the quality you can find in a sub 30$ keyboard. The keys are raised unlike many other membrane keyboards, so the buttons "travel" quite a distance. They also hit the hard plastic of the housing rather than the membrane, so they don't squish down when you press. For me, the layout of the keyboard is more important than the feel of the keys. When I'm on my MacBook for example, my typing slows down because all the keys are shifted to the right. I've never been able to adjust to that.
Like I said, I've never owned a mechanical over 100$, so I don't have the personal experience of using one for years. But I've gone through dozens of keyboards over the years, and this is the best I've ever used. I think it's very similar to the mechanicals I've used, while still being a bit softer/quieter (which I personally prefer)

Plus I value the simplicity of the keyboard I posted. The Model M is cool too. But others feel like you're paying a premium for lights/extra buttons that I personally never use

Isn't that mechanical? That looks like scissor switches to me. Could be wrong.

wait scissor switches aren't mechanical what the fuck am I saying
Who the fuck uploads 10 hours of keyboard typing.
ASMR creeps me out. Even before I knew what it was, those commercials where they have like a camera way zoomed in with nothing but the image and sound of someone pouring a drink or opening a package or something made me uncomfortable.
I've never checked under the caps. I've just assumed it to be a membrane since it's cheap, but it doesn't really feel like you're typing on one
When I'm saying mechanical, I mean the keyboards with the cherry switches. My MacBook has scissor switches, but I wouldn't call it a mechanical keyboard (and it doesn't feel like one either)

I spend my money on enslaved Vietnamese prostitutes.
thank you so many people try to tell me how to spend my hard earned, american money!
Since I had some spare cash left I went out and bought me some Razer stuff, it's pricey but their lower pricerange stuff aint that bad really.
I tested some of their headsets and mouses, but for the keyboards.. yeah I've had a Trust one and it felt just as good to me.

Then don't get lights or buttons. Get something simple.

Mechanical keyboards can cost more than membrane because of the nature of the parts. but I ASSURE YOU that they are extremely worth it for typists.

I got a TKL, I'd go with that if you don't care about the numpad that much.
I'm pretty happy with my membrane sidewinder x4
I've both an X4 and a Qpad MK80. The X4 is the most mechanical-like membrane keyboard I've ever used, and I think it's amazing, especially seeing as it's so cheap.
ive got a red steelseries and im very happy with it, typing feels and sounds so nice
plus its heavier than my last keyboard
My brother has one of them, loud as fuck.
