IIRC HitB Plinkett and Review Plinkett exist in two different canons.
I watched the movie last night before seeing the review today. The P.T. Barnum-Elephants "joke" was the exact moment I knew this movie was going to be shit and it's like 19 seconds in.
its like, Alien 3 is a great movie and the alien itself looks great. but the compositing when its running around and all? just terrible. awful.
But the alien is so cute.
Spy was a suprisingly good movie. Freaks and Geeks is one of the best comedies ever. I don't understand how this movie ended up so garbage.
Without having seen any of Feig's films: Probably because the original Ghostbusters wasn't a plain horror film (or straight comedy, for that matter). You can't really spoof it because the original is a pair of relatively straightforward horror films that thoroughly spoof themselves already. Same with Ghostbusters: The Video Game (the good one from 2009 that has been removed from Steam earlier this year :frown:): It's a relatively straightforward action horror game, but with a good amount of self-referential humour built on top of that serious foundation.
This one seemed less well structured than the others
feig says the pringles can wasn't product placement but it seems to be carefully positioned in every shot it's in to have the logo clearly visible on camera except in the scene where she literally eats one and says the marketing phrase
you can't have a product in a movie like this without contracts
feig says the pringles can wasn't product placement but it seems to be carefully positioned in every shot it's in to have the logo clearly visible on camera except in the scene where she literally eats one and says the marketing phrase
Yeah, it's a lie that's pretty much see-through. It was about as blatant as it could possibly get, including whatsherface using the slogan. To just go 'oh no, she just needed something to eat and the pringles can HAPPENED to be there' means that either you're stupid enough to think that will work or you have nothing but contempt for your audience's intelligence.
actually i was wrong the pringles logo is still very deliberately in the shot when she says the line lol
it's great how they keep referencing dunkachino in almost every video.
IIRC HitB Plinkett and Review Plinkett exist in two different canons.
I have a theory that half in the bag is a prequel with Mike killing Plinkett and assuming his likeness/life.
They're long distant relatives of each other.
They're fraternal twin brothers.
HitB Plinkett is Mr. Plinkett's true son.
Is Mr. Plinkett replacing Mr. Plinkett?
haha I know that it's a reference hahaha
I clapped! I clapped when I saw Tangerines reference!
Even just listening to the small snippets of the movie annoyed me. To make anything good, you have to have balance. You have to let the audience breathe for a bit. Constant action is worse than no action at all. To have unlikeable characters constantly talking, constantly screaming, is exhausting. I liked the original Homefront game (the very first game, didn't play the reboot of it) but that was people's main complaint. They tried to do the Cawadooty thing where you have a character who's constantly shouted at to do things. It's such an interesting world that it's really a shame you never have the chance to just sit, breathe, and take in the atmosphere. You don't need constant fucking noise to retain people's attention. You have to have balance, and that's true for every single medium.
Is Mr. Plinkett replacing Mr. Plinkett?
this reference broke new ground
I have a theory that half in the bag is a prequel with Mike killing Plinkett and assuming his likeness/life.
Deepest lore
