I can't win can I? If I say she was not good she must actually be good and if I say she's good she really must be good. Great logic
nigga please. lol u gay son -> get on my lvl
For people who saw it: how was Hardy? Was he good? Anywhere close to Oscar-worthy?
I saw an image of [sp]Alfred standing next to the grave of Bruce Wayne[/sp] and I don't really care if this picture is real or not, but does anyone have it or a link to it?
Really good, for he managed to show how brutal he was. And rusty, why is it that you hate Anne so much that you want to kill her? And where's your review, rusty?
Also: how the fuck are you guys all getting these early screenings?
countries where the movie came out before yours
countries where the movie came out before yours
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/releaseinfo i guess, if their timezones are far enough ahead/they showed it at midnight or something
I'm in Australia, and it's been the 19th for 15 hours.
well looks like Rusty gave it a 10/10 so i'll definitely be seeing it in imax saturday morning
Let me be clear - I think it's better than TDK (which I thought was outstanding), but that's not to say it doesn't have it's shortcomings. But the movie is so grand it basically sweeps you off your feet. Everything that isn't perfect is absolutely forgivable considering the scale and spectacle and just how well it's put together. In the same way it's forgivable that the plot of all the Terminator movies make no sense, and it doesn't matter. It's about hiding the flaws with excellent filmmaking, even after I've had time to think about it, they are all totally forgivable, and not even obvious. Unlike Prometheus.
Might wanna spoiler tag that man. Edit: I found the part about Bane turning Gotham into ashes was p spoilerish.
That's where I stopped reading. Goddamnit I have two days left, I need to stay out of here ESPECIALLY NOW.

Absolutely (as long as it's a real imax and not a 'fake' one)
i'll be going to the only real one in my state
Movie theater i work at called me in to close so the rest of the employees could watch Batman. FUCKING BASTERDS!
owned idiot
I'll be honest, I'm sad because I think I had too much hype for this movie. I mean, I'm obviously going to fucking enjoy it a lot, but I had really hoped that this would go down as like, mega legendary critic-wise. Like, despite how good TDK is, I wanted it to blow it out of the water and just stun everyone. I wanted Tom Hardy and the lesser known character he played to equal or exceed to the acclaim met by Ledger and the well known Joker, just because I'd love to see a dark horse like that beat the odds set by the insanely high bar of TDK. And maybe it's because I'm focusing too much on the Tomatometer and the "Critic's Consensus," (actually, it's almost certainly because of that), but it looks like even if it's great, it's not that sort of legendary great I wanted it to be. I find myself constantly expecting too much from movies (god knows I obsessed over Cowboys & Aliens and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter because I wanted them to be fantastic, just because I'd love to see a ridiculous concept pull through and be acclaimed just to show people that ideas like that can prevail), and it looks like it's even happening with a movie like this. And now I feel kinda sad. But I'm gonna try to get this to wash over, because regardless of what critics say I'm sure I'm going to love the movie. ...oh yeah, and to those who have seen the movie... [sp]I read an ending spoiler that Miranda Tate/Talia Al Ghul kills Bane, Batman vanishes, Albert thinks he sees him in a cafe, and John Blake finds the batcave. Is this true, or a fake ending?[/sp] And for the hell of it, just tell me [sp]does Batman die/does Bane actually break his back?[/sp]
Movie theater i work at called me in to close so the rest of the employees could watch Batman. FUCKING BASTERDS!
The rest of the employees better hold the fort while you watch the movie all by yourself in the theatre.
Tomorrow night- Midnight screening
I have the same stance as the other two films, TDKR was great as a movie, but I do not like it as a Batman story. I did like the character rework of Bane however, which is more than I can say for the Joker. I believe they could have brought more seriousness to his character, instead we get a lot of lines that sound kind of cheesy. [sp]The mask was never fully explained either.[/sp] Bane felt more suited as a James Bond Villain [sp]"Do you expect me to talk?" "No, mister Wayne, I expect you to die"[/sp] than one from Batman. The plot was good, however a lot of it seemed too circumstantial. I understand how the Joker could adapt and change his plan according to certain events, but not Bane[sp]/ Talia.[/sp] Things like [sp]the cops being more focused on Batman and letting Bane escape after the stock market robbery. And later on, trapping every cop in the sewers[/sp] they just seem too unlikely to base your plan around. [sp]The climax of the film was a mess, with too many things going on. They had a time limit, with hours to go before the bomb goes off. What does Batman do? He somehow paints a bat symbol onto a bridge with flammable liquid. Even in the last minute, he delays by making out with Selena, and talking to Gordon. The stand-off between the Gotham City Police and Bane's police is stupid. Running into an armed force with batons, with the majority of bullets landing at their feet, and the one Tumbler that batman didn't destroy did absolutely nothing. The joke with the lacklustre explosive was unfunny and unneeded. The nuke was extremely underwhelming, a four-megaton nuke exploding off the coast with barely 30 seconds of distance between it and the city, zero shockwave, everyone cheering.[/sp] They also showed off the sideways wheels on the Batcycle too often. [sp]Unfortunately I was spoiled months ago to the identity of Talia, however the story of the child in the pit turning out to be her instead of Bane was a good twist.[/sp] [sp]The plot felt rather similar to Batman Begins actually, just on a larger scale.[/sp] I still enjoyed the movie, don't get me wrong. There were some very well done scenes, mostly the dramatic ones relating to [sp]breaking Batman.[/sp]
Heres whats going to happen. Bane breaks Batmans back during their first battle. Batman finally recovers after months of rehibilitation and hospital treatments. During this time Bane becomes supreme ruler of Gotham. Bruce gives up being Batman and wants to be a normal kid again. Cue montage of him meeting girls, going to school and working in the local supermarket (With "Rain drops keep falling on my head" playing in the background). Bane gets too out of hand. Alfred buys a shotgun from the local wallmart, puts on the Batman costume and shoots Bane. Alfred then becomes the new supreme ruler of Gotham. The end
Okay guys...I won't want to spoil you or anything. But I was completely right :v:
[sp]Oh god that Robin thing is really dumb. They should of just called the character something like Detective Robert Grayson. It's a lot more subtle and comic book readers will probably get the reference without it getting shoved down everyone's throats[/sp]
[sp]Unfortunately I was spoiled months ago to the identity of Talia, however the story of the child in the pit turning out to be her instead of Bane was a good twist.[/sp]
No it wasn't. [sp]She was a shit villian[/sp]
No it wasn't. [sp]She was a shit villian[/sp]
I reckon Marion Cotillard was very good in the movie, way better than Hathaway. In fact, probably the first good female costar in the series (Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal were very average)
[sp]Marion Cotillard was fucking awful. She was definitely the weakest actor/actress in the entire movie. She couldn't even die convincingly[/sp]

How early should I turn up to get in the queue for this? We only have one IMAX cinema here in Scotland, so the lines are usually quite big, but I'm going on Monday when it should hopefully be less busy.

Bring a lawn chair.
