[sp] I HATE when movies do the long emotional death of a character and it ends with them really alive with a little wink wink nudge nudge to the camera almost "hey just kidding I'm really alive". It's the only thing I did not like about the movie. Though it sounds morbid I wish Bruce Wayne had truely died. It would have been way more powerful. [/sp]
[sp]Well normally I'd agree. Usually bringing a character back from the dead is cheap and totally ruins the mood. But here, I think, it was done perfectly. Batman died. He never came back. But Bruce did; he's redeemed himself and done his duty, and is now able to move on with a "clean slate".[/sp]
[sp]If BATMAN had come back, I would have been pretty angry. But he didn't. So I dunno. I found it pretty perfect.[/sp]
That would've been neat but too open? (Inceptiony)
To be honest I was perfectly happy with the ending, one of the only times a trilogy ending has. Great film.
[sp]also talias death seemed like awful acting[/sp]
[sp]I thought Talia's death was too drawn out as well, never really cared too much if at all for her.[/sp]
[sp]FUSION REACTORS DON'T EXPLODE FOR FUCKS SAKE[/sp]
This bothered me for the whole movie.

Also, even though this film was good, it had problems, but I can't put my finger on them. All in all, I thought The Dark Knight was better.

[sp]the doctor dude did science to it[/sp]
[sp]the doctor dude did science to it[/sp]
Well it didn't make me go mad, It was an explosive mcguffin, even though he [sp]basically broke every single law of physics in existence[/sp] but OK
[editline]20th July 2012[/editline]
Also, [sp]The doctor guy in the prison? He's an Israeli actor famous for playing "Yigal the Nazi" in an Israeli TV crime series. Feels fucking weird seeing him in this movie[/sp]
The rule of cool, my friend.
[sp]I was REALLY hoping to hear some older joker clips from the dark knight, somehow having the joker connected but apparently not. i miss heath ledger[/sp]
and i'm pissed because some asshole's cell phone rang during the quieter parts of the film, and instead of dismissing the call, he TOOK THE CALL, and the cunt made comments every five minutes. i laughed when he said at the end "oh man i cant wait for the next batman" and legitimately believed there'd be a sequel
[sp]this is silly but fyi it's the final film for this series, he was hit with an rpg, if the last we see of him is him flying against a wall after getting hit by something that destroys cars then the obvious assumption to make is he's dead. but if you really want to believe they'd have him survive that for no reason when there isn't gonna be a batman 4 then knock yourself out[/sp]
Not entirely correct, I saw an interview with Christopher Nolan and even though he admitted himself this was the conclusion of batman, he said he was looking forward to seeing if anyone would "carry on where he left off"
I really like the movie, so many amazing moments that I'm sure have already been listed.
[sp] I Love how they handle Robin, I can't believe I did not catch on to that.[/sp]
You'd think batman would have stab proof armor.

yeah but the only continuation is looking to be one that'll coincide with the unfortunately upcoming Justice League movie. You can't have superman and wonder woman existing in a universe like this one, so it's gonna be a brand new batman.

Well like they said in Dark Knight, he wanted a more flexible suit at cost of less armor.

I was disapointed when i first heard that James Newton Howard would have no involvement, but holy fuck I love this soundtrack so damn much. Zimmer pulled it off just fine by himself.
Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of The Dark Knight Rises, I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community.
I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime.
The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me.
Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families.
This guy really knows exactly what to say, every time. I love this man.

Pretty much what Postal said; but also I was thinking it seemed to be between the armor plates along his side.
Also, during my showing when they played this ad:

A group at the back of the theatre would yell "LEEROY JENKINS!" during the Gandalf bit.
The ad was shown twice. Their 2nd attempt was followed by someone yelling out, "That was so much funnier the first time"
I fucking love midnight release crowds.
Pretty much what Postal said; but also I was thinking it seemed to be between the armor plates along his side.
When he got that armor in TDK, Fox mentioned that he would be more vulnerable to knives due to the gap between the plates.
I felt the same until [sp]the scene with the cafe right at the very end. It felt like it cheapened Bruce's sacrifice and Alfred's reaction made no sense. Either the table should've been empty, or he should've at least shown some sort of emotion that he hadn't failed instead of just leaving[/sp]
[sp]Should have ended with Alfred nodding at the audience.[/sp]

dude it's a fucking comic book movie
i think it would have been neat if [sp]there was no cut to bruce at the end and just left it at Alfred's smile[/sp]
I'd rather not Nolan and his brother become "those guys". It's fine as it is, and the whole point was complete and total closure, a passing of all torches.
it still would have been full closure you'd have to be fucking dumb to think he's smiling and nodding at something else

Our group was great as well. The theater was packed primarily with people between the ages of 13-24, but everyone was respectful, nobody used their cell phone even once, and everyone was dead silent for the majority of the film, except for those moments were we had a "group reaction" to a moment in the film. It was superb.
Also, everyone in the theater cheered for The Hobbit trailer, followed by a gigantic "WHAT?" when the Superman: Man of Steel trailer used Lord of the Rings music.

[sp]I'd say the shot to Bruce and Selina was warranted. Batman is dead, but Bruce Wayne is finally alive, and both him and Selina are on a 'clean slate,' as it were.[/sp]

Both companies have figured out you can have mini universes about 12 years back, and spider-man showed you can encapsulate those stories in little salable chunks. Prepare for a deluge of 10 year span trilogies until people get tired of it. It'll pretty much be the norm for at least the next ten years. The Venom movie will pretty much test if tie ins can be combined for even more revenue. Cha-ching.
hollywood is the king of running shit into the ground
but whatever i still hold hope for the venom movie.
As much as I hate cash-ins, I'm a real sucker for world-building. These shared universe movies make me very happy for some reason. It gives things a grander feeling, like we're only seeing tiny glimpses into a world full of adventure.
it's definitely a more interesting approach than just shitting them out relentlessly

[sp]When they said his last name was Blake, I was pretty sure it was going to be Robin, although, even if he wasn't it was fairly obvious that he was the one who was going to take up the role of Batman when Bruce was gone.[/sp]
[sp]When Alfred started crying at the end, I have to admit I was on the verge of breaking down myself. Luckily I suspected that Bruce was alive so I was able to hold back, but it was definitely a tear-jerker[/sp]
[sp]My theater cheered when they showed Bruce at the end.[/sp]
Overall, I really enjoyed Dark Knight Rises. since I've only viewed it once, I'm not sure if it's even my favorite of the three, but the trilogy as a whole is amazing.

[sp] Same here, I was fighting back tears. No one cheered in my theater though.[/sp]

You got a trailer for The Hobbit? All my theatre got was Argo (Which looks pretty awesome BTW) and possibly one other one I can't remember.
You got a trailer for The Hobbit? All my theatre got was Argo (Which looks pretty awesome BTW) and possibly one other one I can't remember.
Yeah, my theater showed off The Bourne Legacy, The Campaign, Taken 2, The Hobbit, Man of Steel and...I could swear there was one other, but I can't think of it right now.
Since I was at an imax showing all we got was the hobbit, since it was only one confirmed for imax (they explained to us man of steel hasn't yet been confirmed so they couldn't show it, which sucked)
but our theater was still cool enough to have people in nice costumes put on 2 short live shows for us while we all waited in line. Their catwoman even rappelled down from a 3rd story balcony while bane and batman fought, it was pretty sweet.
we didn't have any commercials at our imax
is the hobbit trailer they're showing still the one from like december?
