Nolan said months before the films release there was deliberately no reference to Joker, not because of the fact he'd steal the stage, but because he's still gutted about his friends death. I always got the sense from the ending of Dark Knight that Joker was to play a massive part in the third Batman film. Without a doubt Joker would've fit the [sp]judge scene more perhaps with crane in mask being a sort of crazed prosecutor[/sp]. The fact he was the only villain to not get an appearance or even name check was sad. [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] Lots of debate over who was the best actor here. Hardy was underused in my opinion. Did very well. Hathway was VERY good. But Michael Caine stole it.
Just my opinion, I thought it was pretty disappointing in comparison to The Dark Knight. I felt like it was unnecessarily long, and at some points in time I felt the whole 'Spiderman 3' thing was going on with the different plots. That's not to say I thought it was terrible, I just thought they could have executed this a little better given, they had 4 years to do it.
No matter how busy I am, I will never complain about a movie being too long. I'm hoping for a Director's Cut with at least half an hour of new footage.
When [sp]Bane was holding Batman over his head[/sp], was I the only one thinking "[sp]DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT[/sp]"?
No because I like Batman and don't want to see bad things happen to him???????
so TDKR was probably one of the best movies I've seen all year but [sp] Bane's voice was pretty awful they should of kept it as it was like in the prolouge[/sp] and [sp] when Wayne first meets Tate I immediately thought that Tate would end up being Talia Al Guul[/sp].
When [sp]Bane was holding Batman over his head[/sp], was I the only one thinking "[sp]DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT[/sp]"?
I didn't. [sp]That scene was painful to watch, seeing Batman getting the shit pummeled out of him and then he gets his back essentially broken.[/sp] [editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
Just my opinion, I thought it was pretty disappointing in comparison to The Dark Knight. The only complaint I had with the movie was the fact that Chicago wasn't used for Gotham City when it was used in the last two films. Philadelphia doesn't have the same feel as Chicago.
No because I like Batman and don't want to see bad things happen to him???????
Gee, I guess you should have skipped all of these movies then. :v: [editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
I didn't. [sp]That scene was painful to watch, seeing Batman getting the shit pummeled out of him and then he gets his back essentially broken.[/sp]
Yeah but [sp]it was a really damn well done scene, and the best part about scenes like that is knowing that the hero will eventually get through the pain and come out on top. And it made their second fight incredibly satisfying.[/sp]
My favorite part? The Kingdom Come reference (if you've read it, you'll know it). [sp]"So, that's what that feels like."[/sp]
My favorite part? The Kingdom Come reference (if you've read it, you'll know it). [sp]"So, that's what that feels like."[/sp]
yeah no that's actually a callback to the previous two films and Hathaway was great, and for anyone that says otherwise all I have to say is [sp]Bar Scene[/sp]

Catwoman was damn sexy. She can ride that bike all day long mmm.
alligator....
Theres a difference between a crocodile and an alligator, bro.
I don't get the British audiences. When i saw the film yesterday, there was no cheers, no laughs, no applause at the end. Everyone was like mindless drones. I also liked the nod to a certain alligator....
who the fuck cheers at a cinema? and who are you applauding? (the movie wasn't exactly funny either, so why would anyone laugh?)
who the fuck cheers at a cinema? and who are you applauding? (the movie wasn't exactly funny either, so why would anyone laugh?)
the audience here cheered at the end of the movie, because it was phenomenal and it was a phenomenal experience at IMAX.
i've literally never seen a movie where people cheered. it's pretty pointless tbh.
yeah i saw it in imax and holy fuck was the sound loud, the score was awesome with it though
Hans Zimmer best composer all years~

I was still rooting for Batman, even though I knew that fight had a foregone conclusion.[/sp]
Just back from seeing it. Definitely one of my favorite films ever.
In the showing I went to, one person started to clap when the credits rolled, but stopped immediately after realizing that he was the only person clapping. It was silly and it made me smile.
who the fuck claps after films
Going to see it again tonight with friends after seeing the midnight release with my bro.
saw it last night, great way to wrap up the trilogy. [sp]I loved how Bruce describes Batman in this movie; often saying that Batman is a symbol and that Batman could be anyone which is why I thought the ending was so clever[/sp]
[sp]the scene with the cafe right at the very end. It felt like it cheapened Bruce's sacrifice and Alfred's reaction made no sense. Either the table should've been empty, or he should've at least shown some sort of emotion that he hadn't failed instead of just leaving[/sp]
[sp]To the quote above, and anyone who thought simliarly to the ending, let me offer a quick explanation as to why it works IMO[/sp] [sp]Bruce's sacrifice wasn't about him just simply taking the bomb elsewhere, it's the fact BATMAN did it. This way, Bruce gets closure to being Batman while still being able to live his own life. As stated above, Bruce said a few times in the movie that the most important aspect of Batman is that it could be anyone. Bruce's sacrifice was killing Batman to give Gotham what it needed, a real hero. Doing this came with the short consequence of Alfred believing in Wayne's death as well, but I'm sure Lucius told Alfred that auto-pilot had been installed so I'm assuming that's why Alfred showed up at the cafe, in order to see if Bruce was alive and well.[/sp]
who the fuck cheers at a cinema? and who are you applauding? (the movie wasn't exactly funny either, so why would anyone laugh?)
What a strange culture
I kind of wish they didn't have the [sp]autopilot thing at the end[/sp]
I kind of wish they didn't have the [sp]autopilot thing at the end[/sp]
why [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] it was mentioned a lot, more than I thought it should had been, so...yeah, it was alluded to the whole movie
Great movie, though can't see myself seeing it again, 3 hours with only like, 20 minutes of it being batman is kind of dumb. Also cop-out endings are shit and movies need to cut it out
[sp]There is nothing wrong with the ending at all, it was literally beautiful and literally what should happen. Batman sacrificed himself, but Bruce Wayne didn't have to.[/sp]
[sp]Why was Scarecrow in this movie? Just wondering.[/sp]
why [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] it was mentioned a lot, more than I thought it should had been, so...yeah, it was alluded to the whole movie
The ending just felt a lot more powerful when [sp] Batman had to give up his life to save Gotham. The ending felt like they were leaving things open just in case they wanted to make another film[/sp]
