[QUOTE=Rusty100;36868306]Not really, I doubt he would have begun writing it before Heath died. Besides, the Joker would have been fucking a lot more shit up in more serious ways were he to be in the film. But it really didn't need him so it was a good call to keep him out (that and the actor is dead...)[/QUOTE] [sp] Actually the anarchy theme and plot was meant directly for Ledger, it just worked well enough to be placed where it was with Hardy. Had Ledger lived there would have been a lot less Blake-time, that's for certain. [/sp] [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=JeanLuc761;36874760]Well, it depends on the film. For example, at the end of all three Lord of the Rings movies, the entire cinema gave a standing ovation because, even though he wasn't there, Peter Jackson had done such a great job and they wanted to applaud the effort of everyone involved. Cheering that takes place during the film is usually in reference to an event that took place in the film rather than cheering for the people who made it.[/QUOTE] We just chanted Deshi Basara and got the crowd to join in. +1 [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=Niven;36873353][sp]Why was Scarecrow in this movie? Just wondering.[/sp][/QUOTE] Because Murphy is awesome.
[QUOTE=Wealth + Taste;36873694]Going to see it tonight at 7pm. Wish me luck guys.[/QUOTE] we will pray 4 u

Just back from watching it. I loved it ! Even if it was 2:45 I loved every bit of it.
Saw it today as well. Definitely a great movie.
[QUOTE=MajorMattem;36876105][media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4v1hAnfy1I[/media] [sp]Some days you just cant get rid of a bomb.[/sp][/QUOTE] Is this the alternate ending?
[QUOTE=genyus;36876284]Just back from watching it. I loved it ! Even if it was 2:45 I loved every bit of it.[/QUOTE] Shit it was that long? I totally lost track of time after the what must have been 30 minutes of ads and trailers the cinema showed. Went to see it yesterday on a IMAX screen. Killer headache from watching it for some reason (seems to happen every time I see a IMAX showing), but it was awesome, a good end to the trilogy I'd say. Though I could see a few things coming from a mile off, it was still surprising at times. I'd recommend it to anyone who has seen the previous two any day.
[sp]On one more note, was anyone else really scared of Bane? I mean, not just 'oh no, what's he gonna do?!' (but that was still part of it) but just, how terrifying he was. His voice, his strength, his batshit crazy rage when his mask was damaged. The animal-like snarling. Bane is a monster.[/sp]
[sp]It's so sad Heath Ledger died, I imagine joker would be having a whale of a time during the whole occupation time[/sp]
[sp]Honestly I didnt like how Bane "Died" Such a badass gone in like a second[/sp]
[sp]Bane's death, Talia's death.[/sp] Awful. Shafted. [highlight](User was banned for this post ("ignored thread title, didn't use spoiler tags" - postal))[/highlight]
Only thing I got after watching this film... [sp]WHERE IS HE?! WHERE'S THE TRIGGER?![/sp]
Am I the only person who didn't like this movie? I don't mean to piss on everybody who likes it I just thought the writing was mostly terrible.
[QUOTE=TehDoctorz;36877546][sp]Bane's death, Talia's death.[/sp] Awful. Shafted.[/QUOTE] Tag that, but [sp]yes I agree that Bane deserved a more epic death, and Talia's death was understandable but Marion's acting was very questionable in her death scene[/sp] [QUOTE=FreezingStorm;36877589]Only thing I got after watching this film... [sp]WHERE IS HE?! WHERE'S THE TRIGGER?![/sp][/QUOTE] [sp]WHERE IS IT?! you WOULDN'T give IT to an ORDINARY CITIZEN![/sp]
Just saw it and loved it. I actually missed the dialogue where he explains [sp]the plane's autopilot was fixed[/sp] and when the [sp]reactor bomb exploded[/sp] I actually thought [sp]wayne had died in the explosion[/sp]. That last scene at the cafe really confused me until after the credits I asked my friends if I missed something and he told me. :v:.
I knew something was up with [sp] Talia as soon as I saw that mark on her back when she was love making with Bruce. Not to mention that it didn't make sense for Bane to be the kid who escaped if the doctor in the prison repaired his face and the kids face was fine in the flashbacks. I didn't necessarily believe her to be the mastermind, but I definitely figured that she was in league with Bane[/sp]
Such an amazing movie. Loved it so much. The dialogue, the acting....just awesome! [sp]Bane's death was a little disappointing though. His presence in every scene he was in was so powerful, him going like that....wish it was different.[/sp]
[sp]Bane deserved a shitty death for almost killing Batman with a shotgun to the face fuck that shit I expect some curb stomp action from him[/sp]
So... Anyone think any of the actors are Oscar worthy?
Looking at youtube comments and someone said that numerous interviews and stuff from Comic Con hint that [sp]there will be a Robin movie coming out soon that will be related to this trilogy and will probably be directed by Nolan's brother.[/sp] Please no.
[QUOTE=Clovernoodle;36878241]So... Anyone think any of the actors are Oscar worthy?[/QUOTE] Alfred would be the only one that I could see being nominated. The acting was good, but it wasn't stellar. Not something to make a huge fuss about, but it by no means was subpar.
I felt in comparison to The Dark Knight, this movie was on the same level of quality. The Dark Knight Rises is not going to be anything like how The Dark Knight was. This movie, at least to me, was about the end of this series, in one big, huge, and suspense filled story. It showed the fall of Batman and the rise, exactly what it set out to do. Albeit, there are some plot holes, but the movie, just like The Dark Knight, wows you to the point where these little problems fade into the overall scale of the film. I feel Nolan didn't surpass The Dark Knight, but I was never expecting it to. I was expecting the film to be same quality of Batman that Nolan has made and go no further, and to me it did just that.
[QUOTE=Clovernoodle;36878241]So... Anyone think any of the actors are Oscar worthy?[/QUOTE] Hardy and Caine. The fact that hardy used what he did without showing his face is fucking ridiculous.
[QUOTE=The_J_Hat;36869449] I think the length is fine. The only complaint I had with the movie was the fact that Chicago wasn't used for Gotham City when it was used in the last two films. Philadelphia doesn't have the same feel as Chicago.[/QUOTE] Err, that wasn't Philly, that was New York. Unless, you mean, on the ground level shoots. I thought it was odd that New York was the basis for Gotham in this movie, though, I always assumed that Gotham was supposed to be Chicago and Metropolis was New York. [editline]21st July 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=zeldar;36878270]Looking at youtube comments and someone said that numerous interviews and stuff from Comic Con hint that [sp]there will be a Robin movie coming out soon that will be related to this trilogy and will probably be directed by Nolan's brother.[/sp] Please no.[/QUOTE] I think there'd be a nice flow into the movie. [sp]JGL is perfect for the role, and it can't hurt to explore the universe a bit more. This isn't a continuation, per se, so if they want to do a Robin movie that's connected but not directly a part of the trilogy, I think that'd be fine. Especially if it has the same quality as the Dark Knight Trilogy.[/sp]
I think it's p obvious that [sp]they have the idea of a Robin film anyway because the whole calling him Robin thing wasn't necessary to the plot or anything so they basically just added it in so that they can use it to lead into a Robin film[/sp]
[QUOTE=venn178;36874566]Seriously. I've never seen anyone cheer in a movie before. I mean, laughing I can understand, but anything besides that just seems weird.[/QUOTE] During the Avengers, everybody cheered whenever shit went down. It was beautiful, absolutely fantastic. There's something almost magical about a room of people coming together and cheering for the good guys. When Tony is falling to Earth and the Hulk snags him, the applause actually overcame the movie's audio. During The Amazing Spiderman, nobody clapped, or cheered, even though there were several scenes that deserved it. It lost a lot of the fun- still a great movie that I enjoyed, but why go to a movie theater to see a film if you're not getting something unique about it? I have a big screen TV, and the size of the screen means nothing to me. Nor does 3D. You go for the social experience, and if nobody is cheering for the hero, why bother? Now, TDKR...that was unusual. It was a middle point, really. Some scenes got a bit of applause ([sp]Wayne's revealed survival, Robin, etc[/sp]), but ones that definitely deserved some laughter or cheer went a bit unsung. Bear in mind, I saw this movie at 3PM, and the place was still sold out, in IMAX. Conceivably, in the future, Batman will return to deal with future villains, at least, that's always how I looked at it. Robin gives a hint at that future[/sp].
[sp] at the same time tho it kind of doesn't make sense/well it goes against the Canon of the comics since Robin (well the first robin, who is also called Dick Grayson and so it can't be Blake) is raised in the circus and Bruce Wayne takes him in as a child, and it's only when Grayson leaves to become Nightwing that Drake becomes Robin (and he replaces the guy that replaced Grayson bcos he died)[/sp] [sp]I also don't know if it'll be a Robin movie cos Robin's mostly a sidekick, but Nightwing (Dick Grayson after he leaves Batman's side) is a superhero. He's not in Gotham and also obviously isn't Drake though, so idk. Plus he's never been featured in any films and casual fans of just the superhero films won't have a clue who he is, so I don't know if they'd risk making a film about a lesser-known character. I'm interested to see how they handle it all if they're going to make a film of it which they probably will. Definitely something I'm going to be keeping an eye on[/sp] [sp]To go anywhere with this they'd have to disregard and retcon a fuck ton of stuff no matter what so it's anybody's guess as to what they're doing[/sp]
I wouldn't want this trilogy combined with anything. I like it all by itself (and with no further sequels)

Of course this also means some other hotshot director will probably keep making more batman films, and they will probably be shit.
