They could probably pull off croc realistically; in the graphic novel "joker" we was basically a giant black cannibal with a skin disease. Only problem is he doesn't seem like a big-time villain; more of just a henchman
[img_thumb]http://batman-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/KillerCroc.jpg[/img_thumb]
he's a mobster, most of the batman villains are. even joker, really.
I don't know if I would consider the joker to be a mobster really. Sure he kind of ran with them for a little bit but that was because he had some other motives.
I'm looking forward to it, but "The Dark Knight Rises" is a horrible title.
The Joker and "organised crime" don't really go together.

I couldn't care less what the title was but at least with this title it's obvious the film is related to the Dark Knight and will get people's attention more easily, which is probably why they went with it to begin with as opposed to something like those goofy suggestions people had been making, such as GOTHAM CITY
Also it's no worse than Batman Begins.

New page reposting
Time for another big update:
So that whole rumor of Nolan looking for two actresses, one to be a love interest of Wayne, and another, which I'm rather glad is fake, a love interest for Gordon (even though he's married and has a kid. Apparently he had an affair at one point in the comic or something) turned out to be half right. Nolan is searching for two female leads and one is a new love interest for Batman. The other one besides Wayne's love interest is going to be for none other than the villain, which makes me wonder now what exactly Tom Hardy's role in this film is going to be, although I suppose they could do two villains again. Anyways, here's the list of candidates for the two roles:
Rachel Weisz
Naomi Watts
Blake Lively
Natalie Portman
Anne Hathaway
Keira Knightley
So the new question now is what will the female villain be? Catwoman is obviously the most popular suggested role, and the other one people have been suggesting is Talia Al Gul, who is apparently Ras Al Gul's daughter in the comics (Ras being the bad guy from Batman Begins). Just have to wait and see now.

I would like Talia, But it probably wont be her. I heard tom hardy might be Deacon Black.
I heard tom hardy might be Deacon Black.
Yeah well no-one actually knows anything about who he'll be playing (Except Hardy and the Nolans)
Of course, But speculations always fun.
isnt there a catwoman graphic novel that was written by the same guy that did the graphic novel batman begins was taken from
[editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
i'm not surprised its a woman, and it would make sense for it to be catwoman, seeing as nolan is trying to be realistic. mr freeze and poison ivy just wouldnt work.
I want it to be clayface.
but it'll probably be black mask instead.
The Joker in that comic was far more brutal than in The Dark Knight , I wonder what it would be like if the TDK's joker was as sick.
but yes 'Joker' had The Riddler as well, which was an interesting take.
Their take on the joker is even more interesting considering how much it has in common with Heath's despite the graphic novel being written before the Dark Knight entered production

He even looked way more nasty.
I loved the improvised knife of glass shards jammed in his fingers.
:v:

Batman Begins is really the only title you could have used (herr derr, it's an origin film).

YES!
I think she'd be perfect for either character, especially Talia with the accent and all. I don't care who she plays, as long as she's in it. Plus, her last name is suiting to the film's title, heh.
Harley quinn being pissed at dead joker ?
Joker isn't dead, he's in the asylum, where Harley meets and falls in love with him as his psychiatrist.

The Dark Knight Rises would have made sense for the original, no?

Rachel Weisz

please god none of these

read The Killing Joke, he's a mobster before he's even Joker. and as Joker, he's still very much a mobster, think of him as a Don that actually does stuff but doesn't really partake too much in capicola or salami feasts

it's a pretty deep pretty fucked up graphic novel honestly
[editline]12th November 2010[/editline]
my favorite Joker though as far as imagery goes is the one in Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth

yeah but lets say they kill Joker for that purpose
Ikea Knightly. No thanks.
The Dark Knight Rises would have made sense for the original, no?
Not in the least bit, it's an origin film. You don't give the title of an origin film a nickname for the character, you put whatever their main superhero identity is (basically to establish the franchise).
Do we have information if it gonna have more then one villian?
Ikea Knightly. No thanks.
uh
Naomi Watts, Naomi Watts!
I couldn't care less what the title was but at least with this title it's obvious the film is related to the Dark Knight and will get people's attention more easily, which is probably why they went with it to begin with as opposed to something like those goofy suggestions people had been making, such as GOTHAM CITY

The Dark Knight Goes Shopping.
The Dark Knight 3: The Case of the Stolen Mummy!
The Dark Knight AGAIN!
The Dark Knight Visits Briefly
The Dark Knight Pt. 3: A Mystery at Skull Island!
The Dark Knight: Requiem.
The Dark Knight: Cigarettes and Blood (AND BATS!)
All of those are worse titles than The Dark Knight Rises, but not by a whole lot. I don't give two pebbles in a gravel quarry if the new Batman is supposed to be a direct sequel or not, The Dark Knight Rises is a clumsy title that's only stuck for vaguely defined marketing reasons.
"Yeah, well, Heath Ledger."
He was good, I get it. They still want to capitalize off his success and death, but this seems like such a stupidly clumsy way of doing it. Hell, the Dark Knight has already friggen' risen. Wasn't that the entire point of "The Dark Knight?" That'd be like calling "The Dark Knight" "Batman Begins Some More."
My hopes are all put in Rachel Weisz, period

But at the end of the day, I trust Mr. Nolan to do the right thing... he has a great taste when choosing his actors for his movies.

I think the villain will be either The Riddler or Black Mask.
I think the villain will be either The Riddler or Black Mask.
Dude it's totally going to be the riddler!
He was good, I get it. They still want to capitalize off his success and death,
I actually don't recall them ever trying to factor in his death in any of their marketing for TDK. They're just trying to help link the two films through the title, since the last one did so well. It's a bit of a lazy title sure but I still don't think it's all that fair to just say they're taking advantage of his death.
the Dark Knight has already friggen' risen.
Yeah but still, considering how low of a point he was at by the end of the Dark Knight he's obviously going to have to make a come back throughout the film, so might as well have the title reflect that. If anything the only problem I really see with the title, apart from not being all that creative, is how it separates Batman Begins from the trilogy, since the 2nd and 3rd don't even have the word Batman in their titles.
but hey at least the title leaves room for tons of puns from everyone on the internet
