I was surprised by [sp]the lack of quality in the scene where the bridge exploded. Not by the explosion itself, but of Blakes movement from the blast. It just looked silly. [/sp]
I also noticed this. Does anyone know of an explanation? It looked horrendous.
hanz zimmer recorded a song for purchase to benefit the families of the aurora victims, you can check it out here https://watertowermusic.moontoast.com/estore/embed/1336
I'm tight on money so i donated a dollar, but if I had more I'd donate more than that.
I want to donate money, but it seems that I can't enter an address outside of the US?
the song will be up on itunes soon, maybe it'll work for you then. Although sometimes itunes songs can only be purchased in certain areas as well so who knows
i have to say after digesting this for a week and then seeing it again i like it much more.
saw it in a regular theater though, what a terrible experience. going to try to go to imax sunday lol
No imax theaters around here, It's only showing at the theater with the worst digital projectors in town, it was watchable, barely.

yeah the image was all cut off and the sound was a lot worse
i dunno how i'll ever be able to go to a normal theater ever again. luckily the only other movie i can really think of wanting to see in theaters should be in imax (the hobbit)
Call me crazy, but I saw this today and I actually enjoyed it better then The Dark Knight.
It went in directions I totally did not expect at all. [sp]Yeah that bridge scene made no sense though[/sp] but other than that the movie's plot had me emotionally invested in it, [sp] and at parts when bruce made it out I would feel like fuck yeah, or at the end when he "died" I was like :'([/sp] and the plot twists just had me feeling like, "holy shit"
I feel like nolan has turned batman from a comic book adaptation to something much more. The entire trilogy was great, and I love how [sp] in this movie it makes the Joker even better because a lot of the things that happen later on are exactly what he was talking about[/sp]
Also I fucking loved how this one [sp] tied it in with the first movie, it gives the trilogy a more connected feel. Plus it was awesome seeing Liam Neeson again, even if it was just one line of dialogue minus the flashbacks [/sp]
Sure, the movie does have its odd and unfitting moments, but they really didn't detract from it much at all, at least for me
Also maybe at the end [sp] when he's heading out to sea, perhaps the bat/batwing's cockpit IS an ejection pod? That would explain why the shots of him up close still look the same at those times, maybe he already ejected and set the autopilot from the ejected cockpit[/sp]

[sp]yes and the ejector pod's trajectory sent him hurtling into a chris-nolan's-skull-shaped plot hole.[/sp]
i think everyone needs to stop picking at the miscellaneous plot holes and realize that this movie is not so much about the plot but the ideas that it helps to drive. nolan's films are always like that; he can get away with some inconsistencies in plot because of the strong emotional core behind it. his plots have always been secondary to ideas he conveys. for instance, inception was, at its heart, a story of a man dealing with [sp]guilt over causing his wife's death.[/sp] the problems with the plot line can be forgiven because nolan does such an excellent job making his audience feel the emotions that cobb feels. here, it's the story of [sp]a man moving on from being a hero by conquering himself. moments like bruce rising triumphantly out of the pit, in my opinion, adequately overshadow (or, rather, outshine) little hiccups like him being inexplicably whisked into the locked-down gotham.[/sp]
Just got back from seeing it in IMAX. Phenomenal Movie, I loved it , even more than The Dark Knight. I'm not overly critical of movie plotholes, and I enjoyed it immensely.[sp] I nearly cried when I saw Alfred apologizing over Bruce Wayne's grave.[/sp]

I started crying when [sp]Batman was flying out to sea.[/sp]

For me, the most teary-eyed moments were [sp]when Alfred was leaving Wayne and then when he was crying on his grave later.[/sp]
I really wish to see director's cut, or just any extended edition of this movie. But it's Nolan's, so it probably will never happen :(
What you saw in theaters is the director's cut, and I guess Nolan doesn't leave much out when filming since his home releases don't seem to ever include any deleted scenes beyond that alternate camera angle hosptial explosions scene from the dark knight dvd, and you could only see that on another random bonus feature iirc.

This track is fucking incredible.

This part gave me goosebumps, it was so incredible.
I noticed Ra's al ghul mask in Batman Begins looks somewhat like Bane's mask.

No, it's just a fancy gas mask, looks nothing like bane's one
And I still have no clue what Bane's mask is actually doing. Is it just [sp]holding his jaw in place[/sp] or is it [sp]actually injecting something[/sp] ?
It's giving him painkillers. They explained this at least a hundred times.
It's giving him painkillers. They explained this at least a hundred times.
Actually, the movie itself is pretty vague on this.
It gives him a constant supply of drugs to keep his pain tolerance under a certain level so he can still function- it's both explained in the film and by Chris Nolan.
There is NOTHING in this world that has touched my heart more than this movie.
If there's going to be a super special limited edition of the blu-ray and even if it costs over €1200, I'm fucking buying it,because this movie has won my heart and loyalty.
Not sure this was a spoiler, but [sp]was anyone bothered by the Bat's flying while it was at a higher altitude, with some of the sky as a backdrop? The CGI at the end I felt was bad, especially when the reactor exploded.[/sp]
I just rewatched The Dark Knight.
Holy shit, I don't remember Heath's acting being this good.
2:59 is where it truly peaks for me.

Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is probably some of the best acting in the history of cinema
Like not just my opinion that he was fucking amazing, he objectively was absolutely outstanding as him
And I still have no clue what Bane's mask is actually doing. Is it just [sp]holding his jaw in place[/sp] or is it [sp]actually injecting something[/sp] ?
It was [sp]pumping painkillers into his body to allow him to function. Quite why they couldn't just fix him is a mystery, assuming it was just from physical trauma helping Talia escape.[/sp]
Heath Ledger was a brilliant Joker.
[sp]I still prefer Mark Hamill.[/sp]
But the one line I remember everyone in the theater letting out an "Oooooohhhhhhh" for was [sp]"Would you like to know how many of your friends were cowards?"[/sp]

I think I prefer the sheer madness that was Mark Hamill's Joker, but I think Heath Ledger played him better, if you get me

I love the first time you meet him in Mask of the Phantasm. So great.

Looks more like sub-zero.

So what are you're ratings?
Mine:
Batman Begins 8/10
The Dark Knight 9/10
The Dark Knight Rises 5/10
[editline]28th July 2012[/editline]
The last one just didn't work for me, completely sloppy in almost every aspect (writing, acting, production). Bane was the only thing I enjoyed.
So, now the wait for a blu-ray triple set arrives. I've seen The Dark Knight on blu-ray (watched it on my PS3 at uni with like, 9 others crushed into a small kitchen, worth it), and it was great. Even with my shitty, buzzy speakers.
